@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!
This week we are talking about the Queen of err Queen. I mean they should need no introductions. Although I have to say when I first heard them when I was quite young I did not really get it. As I got older and studied music I realised what genius music they were making. The production of all their songs is of course top notch and the vocal harmonies are to die for!
I picked this not just because it is a great song but a great video too! Its sentiment is inspiring and musically it might be one of their more simple songs in many ways but still everything is perfect. Even the snare sound with that nice compression and bit of reverb is like the perfect snare....the thing is with Queen like all the greats they just make it look easy and effortless but individually they are so talented and as a group, well they are a super group!
Again this is a song all about the sentiment that we can all relate to. You always get the feeling with Freddy that his writing is so personal and autobiographical. yet he always comes up with a catchy sing-a-long chorus we can all join in with at certain moments in our life. Again musically this is quite simple but the piano is a real stand out...again with that great snare sound!
I debated to add this or not. It is one of the most iconic songs of its generation so i thought I better,it is so well crafted and I love the way it moves in movements rather than a more traditional pop/rock arrangement. Come on you must have sung a long with this one.
Had to put this in.....just as a reminder...
We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!
Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!

Queen were one of the first bands I got into. They always had their own sound that was so well produced. I saw them twice live (Words and Kind of Magic tours), plus I was at the Freddie tribute gig. He was one of the best performers I've seen.
I'm not a huge fan of I Want to Break Free though. It's a bit cheesy for my tastes. They were at their peak through the 70s.
man awesome you got to see them, I bet they were gold!
Oh yes!
