It's 15th January, and that means it's the first Leo Power Up Day of the year 😀
I've powered up 150 LEO. It felt good after missing a couple of LPUD's at the end of last year - lack of fiat and all kinds of real-life distractions very much got in the way !

A though that's been creeping up in my mind over the last few weeks has been the difference between new and old front ends on Hive.
I'm thinking primarily of the kind of front ends we all use to publish long-form content, not so much the specialist ones like 3Speak, Liketu, Actifit etc .
The earliest long-form front ends were Hive Blog, followed shortly after by Ecency and PeakD. They do an awesome job with great functionality, but are primarily focused on making posting easy and core Hive wallet and governance functions.
Newer front ends like InLeo and TheBBHProject are very different.
Probably the most obvious difference is the hands-on involvement of the creators. @bradleyarrow and @khaleelkhazi are very much present on a daily basis, and pretty much everyone knows who they are and their role in the community. The creators of Ecency and PeakD are more reclusive, and most people (myself included) are unlikely to be able to name them. Each way has advantages and disadvantages, so I'm not going to say that one is right and one is wrong.
PeakD and Ecency don't have their own Tribe tokens, while the newer front ends are deeply integrated with their own tokens. This tokenisation opens them up to having all kinds of additional earning opportunities. It can be drips from staked tokens, improved delegation options, author and curation rewards in both HIVE and the token, and plenty of others.
InLeo is creating new functionality at a breath-taking rate - it can sometimes be hard to keep up with everything that is happening ! Some of it is complex and aimed at users with a deep understanding and experience of the more technical aspects of crypto.
But what I love is how much of the new development is reaching out of our nice safe Hive silo. It's aiming to attract new users, create links with external Defi and blockchains, and bring in capital. This is how we grow Hive !
For now, I still make most of my long form posts on PeakD, and do most of my curation on Ecency - the tools on each are slightly different and I just happen to like each one for those purposes. Right now, I feel they still make posting a lot easier.
But I can see a day coming when the development spotlight turns back onto the posting UI, to enable things like templates, better draft handling, easier tagging and voting for proposals and witnesses (and maybe even Hive Engine witnesses !)
At that point, having a great long-form posting interface alongside all the other functionality will give the newer front ends a real advantage.
It's going to be fun, and it could really be a spur to growing Hive !
