No Joke - The LOLZ Project is shutting down

It is with a sad heart that I inform you that I have decided to shutdown the LOLZ Project. A number of life changes have taken my attention away from Hive and the LOLZ Project. Rather that fade out and leave the LOLZ supporters hanging, I want to officially end the project.

As announced earlier, I will be paying out 50% of all of the projects HBD, and token stakes to the top 100 LOLZ holders, based on their share of the LOLZ held by those top 100 holders. Once the payout has occurred, the LOLZ token will live on only as a curation token.

I will strive to keep the joke bot running for as long as I can, so the !lolz command hopefully will continue to work for now (I type knowing full well it has been down for a week) and LOLZ tokens will continue to be tipped. At least until something big breaks.

TIMELINE FOR SHUTDOWN AND PAYOUTS

I will begin to unstake HBD and tokens as soon as this post is made.

I will take the official "snapshot" of all user token holdings on December 1 at 12:00 UTC. I will determine the top 100 LOLZ holders based on the snapshot and post that similar to how dividends have been paid out. Unlike with the dividend payments, LOLZ tokens that are held, staked, or in the LOLZ:MEME pool will be included in this snapshot.

I will then begin to make a series of payments to the top 100 LOLZ holders in the snapshot. Since we hold a significant chunk of a number of tokens and I don't want to dump too much on the market at any one point, I will divide the payments into 30 daily payments starting on December 2nd, and going thru December 31.

After the last payment is made the LOLZ project will officially end. I will also burn the vast number of LOLZ tokens, leaving just enough to continue token tips and curation awards.

WHAT WILL GO ON

The LOLZ and FUN token are both curation tokens and will still be earned when posting using the LOLZ and FUN tags. I will leave enough LOLZ un-burned to ensure those awards continue.

As I said, I will strive to keep the @lolz joke bot running, but as HIVE is always breaking my bots, odds are sooner or later the joke bot will die.

The FUNM token does not have a contract, and as such, will not continue as a mining token. If enough push back is made, I could be convinced to spend the BEE to have it officially be a mining token, but at current FUN token values, I think the BEE cost would be mostly a waste.

I have made several real connections here that I will always cherish, and hopefully, at some point I will find my way back here to just enjoy the community and not worry about the financial part of it.
