I recently learned that the Isrealites worshipped both Yaweh (a storm god, a god of war) and Asherah, his female counterpart and counterbalance until Ezekiel smashed all her pillars and united Yaweh with Elohim (the God of gods - the analogue to Zeus) to become monotheistic.

The denial/destruction of the feminine is very old.
