Interesting data - thank you, I hadn't seen those numbers before. I wonder if it's because people know that Latin American currencies can turn to toilet paper very rapidly with inflation, and using dollars in one form or another is already well established, so stablecoins are just an even more convenient way to hold and use.
Meanwhile, I believe that Bitcoin has been captured by legacy finance, so it's price is just whatever the financiers want it to be.
The real test will be what happens if the dollar hits problems, which I can see happening when the percentage of oil traded in yuan exceeds the dollar trade value.
