Like you, Monopoly would be in the top. It also wasn't my go-to because of how long it took. Ironically, or maybe not, I liked Battleship and Risk when I got older. I still play Risk with my oldest son and his wife when they visit.

I just commented to someone else that I have never played Risk before.
They have video game versions of it too. We sometimes play both board and video game. If you like strategy games, it is a decent one.
