RE: If Only I Could Go Back: A Journey Through Regret and Growth

You know @bhattg, when you say that you wish you could bring your loved ones back so you could have extra time, I feel the same way. Growing up without the sense of what it feels like to have grandparents in your life for any length of time, I truly envy those who did have that experience. I listen to my husband, friends, and others who talk about grandparents and a sadness overtakes me. I'd have learned a lot about our family history because of my curious nature. Instead, I had to rely upon census records to discover information that should have been passed down to me and my siblings from verbal recollections. What was it like to live in the late 1800s? History and the people who lived that life fascinate me.

But the most poignant aspect of it all is the love and closeness I can feel when others speak of those individuals and the affect they had on their lives growing up. Be thankful if you did have that experience, for it's a precious commodity not handed out to all.
