The nachos & hummus flatbread look yummy! Several years ago, I tried to make hummus at home from a recipe I found online. I can hold my own in the kitchen, but this was a dismal failure. I bought a pricey jar of Tahini (ground sesame seed paste, which the recipe insisted was necessary) and used the exact amount which the recipe specified, but the hummus was so salty it was virtually inedible. Maybe there was an error in the recipe...?!?!? I went to the grocery store and got more chickpeas, but no amount of additional chickpeas were able to counter the intense saltiness of the tahini. I finally had to throw it out, and the stupid jar of tahini went into the garbage can with the hummus. What a waste of time and money. From that day on, I've always bought hummus, ready-made. 😕
That's too bad. I guess I didn't consider that there could be snafu's like that. There are so many brands and varieties out there I guess it makes sense to just get it ready made.
