RE: PowerUp 💪 November 2026 - 👻 Halo WIN? 😇

Old full nodes suck (sorry for the comparison) compared with the normal HIVE API node. And here I am assuming a full node means a normal HIVEd with history.

The HIVE API node will be the HAF implementation, which supports other applications and features for front ends, etc. By the way, noobs like us (including me) are the reason I love to teach and learn. So, I love to be considered a noobie :D - let's learn!

You will need a lot more space (2-3+ TB), preferably NVMe, but SSDs will do too (just gonna be slower to replay the entire thing). Instead of just 2-4 cores, I would recommend at least 8, because you will be running Postgres (which loves cores). And memory really depends, but at least 24-32GB (especially if you run ZFS as the filesystem that supports the docker images).

Happy to guide you through... or anyone with what I learned as usual.

Well, now that you've laid down the specs, I think we will have to go up in rankings to afford something like that... With the recent memory pumps, I suppose my machine from 2 years ago is still a "good deal" 😂

Just checked the specs:

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1270v6
Memory: 32 GB DDR4
Storage: 2x450 GB SSD NVMe

Double tripling the space, and the rest maybe could serve... 😃
