The 72 Names, Yesod, and the Christos Oil

Image

Behold ye o wondering spirit. Come and let me bring upon you bread and milk so that you may eat and be filling as you stay in want. Be in want and not fill thy cup full of the black liquid.

Here I have upon you something about the number 72 that keeps showing itself in places where you wouldn't expect it be.

Exodus 14:19–21

Transliteration:

«King James Version
14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

King James Version
14:20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

King James Version
14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.»

These three verses are where the 72 Names are traditionally derived from. The Hebrew text gives each of these three verses 72 letters. The first verse is written from right to left, the second is reversed, and the third goes back in the original direction. When they are placed together, they produce the 72 three-letter Names.

72 reduces to 9.

7 + 2 = 9.

The three verse numbers themselves do the same thing.

14 + 19 + 21 = 54.

5 + 4 = 9.

The ninth Sephirah on the Tree of Life is Yesod.

Yesod is the Foundation. It is associated with the Moon, the subconscious, dreams, sexuality, generative forces, and the foundation through which something higher is brought into manifestation.

Image

The angel of God is in front of Israel. Then it moves behind them. The pillar of cloud moves with it. It goes from being something in front of the people to something positioned behind them, and then it comes between Israel and Egypt.

The cloud is the brain. It is the field of consciousness. Egypt represents the lower state. Is|ra|el represents the higher state moving toward liberation. The cloud moves between them and separates the two.

The cloud is more than just something floating in the sky. It is the dividing field. The same thing is experienced differently depending on which side of it you are on. To one side there is darkness. To the other there is light.

The brain is constantly separating signals. It receives an enormous amount of information, but consciousness does not experience all of it equally. Some things are brought into awareness while other things remain outside of it. Something can be present within the organism and still be effectively invisible to conscious perception.

The cloud being darkness to one side and light to the other fits the idea of a dividing mechanism within consciousness. One side cannot see what the other side can see. The two states are separated. Notice that they remain separated through the night. The night is important here because this isn't a process that happens instantaneously. Something is happening over time.

The attention moves from the cloud to the sea. The sea is the internal waters.

The body is largely water. Blood, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, intracellular fluid, extracellular fluid and the various fluids surrounding and supporting the cells all provide the environment in which the biological process takes place.

So when the text moves from the cloud to the sea, the symbolism moves from consciousness into the body's fluid environment.

Moses stretches out his hand over the sea. The hand is directed action. It is the physical expression of intention. You think, you direct, and the body acts.

Image

The command isn't described as Moses climbing into the sea and physically pushing the water apart himself. His hand is extended, and then something else happens to the water. A strong east wind moves across the sea. The wind is movement.

In the biological reading, the body is full of movement that cannot be seen simply by looking at the surface. Air moves. Blood moves. Lymph moves. Electrical activity moves. Chemical gradients move. Ions move across membranes. Pressure changes move through tissues. Signals travel through nerves. Fluids are constantly being redistributed.

The body is not a static container filled with water. It is a system of gradients, currents, pressure differences, electrical potentials and chemical exchanges.

The waters being divided therefore becomes a much different image. The water isn't eliminated but is separated. Something that was previously one field becomes two.

The purpose of dividing the waters isn't simply to make the waters disappear. The division creates a condition that did not previously exist. There is now a pathway through the middle.

A biological system can contain the necessary material and still not have a usable pathway through it. For something to move from one state to another, boundaries have to change. Gradients have to form. Fluids have to move. Signals have to travel. Barriers have to open or close. What was previously mixed can become separated, and what was previously inaccessible can become accessible. The text describes exactly that kind of transition.

The organism has not escaped the water by destroying the water. A pathway has been created through it.

Christos Oil

The oil is not simply something external being poured onto the body. The symbolism describes something generated within the organism, moving through the body and eventually reaching the higher centers. The process is one of generation, movement, separation and ascent.

The Christos-oil process gives another way of understanding what happens once the waters have been divided. The oil is described as originating in the brain and descending through the spinal channel until it reaches the sacral region. The sacrum is treated as the sacred point where the descending current is received before the process reverses and the oil begins its ascent through the spinal column.

White Tantra: Sexual Healing and Illumination

Sexual generation produces the force, but the practice is concerned with what happens to that force afterward. Through sexual restraint, meditation, breath and conscious control, the force is retained rather than discharged. The lower generative principle becomes the beginning of the ascent rather than the end of the process.

The divided waters in Exodus give us the image of that redirection. The waters remain present, but they are separated from their ordinary course and a passage is opened through the middle. The generative force is treated in much the same way: it is not wasted through outward release, but retained and directed into the central channel.

From there the process becomes one of ascent. The oil that has reached the sacral region is raised through the spinal axis, traditionally described as the Sushumna, passing through the 33 vertebral levels and the successive centers on its way toward the head.

**"And Jacob dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the LORD stood above it..." **Genesis 28:12-13a

The ancients say that Jacob's Ladder had 72 steps. The number 72 denotes, Celestial Council, Fullness of the Nature (Name) of God and Resurrection. According to Hebrew history, each step on the Ladder represented a name of God. The 72 Names of God. It is called,** The Shem hamphorash,** meaning the unpronouncible name; which has the numerical value of 72.

This transformation takes place through sustained discipline rather than in an instant. Meditation and sexual restraint maintain the conditions necessary for the force to be preserved and redirected. The movement from generation to ascent is therefore a transformation of the force itself.

Image

Yesod is the foundation and the generative principle, and the Christos-oil process begins at that level. The force generated through the sexual principle is retained and redirected upward. What begins as generation becomes the substance of the ascent.

The lower generative center is therefore not something that has to be abandoned in order to reach the higher centers. It is where the upward movement begins, and the spinal column provides the axis through which that movement continues.

The human spinal column is composed of 7 cervical, 12 thoracic and 5 lumbar vertebrae, followed by the fused vertebrae of the sacrum and coccyx. In the Christos-oil teaching, this spinal column becomes the ladder through which the oil ascends after reaching the sacral foundation.

Jacob's Ladder is described as having 72 steps, with each step associated with one of the 72 Names of God. The ascent therefore isn't simply movement from one physical location to another. Each step represents another stage in the return toward the divine nature within.

The three verses of Exodus gave us the 72 Names, and Jacob's Ladder gives us 72 steps of ascent. Now the spinal column provides the physical image of the ladder itself.

There is also an interesting numerical relationship in the traditional correspondence. The 33 vertebrae are doubled to represent the two sides of the spinal column, giving 66. Adding the 6 associated with man brings the number to 72.

The numbers are therefore not sitting separately from the imagery. They keep appearing alongside the same underlying idea: something within man is capable of descending, being generated at the foundation, and then ascending again toward the higher centers.

The ladder is set upon the earth, but its top reaches heaven. That gives us the same relationship we have already seen with Yesod. The foundation is below, while the destination is above. The process begins in the lower part of the organism but is directed toward the higher centers.

Jacob sees angels ascending and descending. The movement is therefore not exclusively upward. There is a continual exchange between above and below, just as the Christos-oil teaching describes a descent before the eventual ascent.

The ladder is the entire axis of the process.

Sorry I replied to the wrong comment lol.

Thank you! Took me all day to gather my thoughts into this but the reality is that it takes many many years of research and practice to fully understand it.
