Unfortunately it's chicken and the egg. Hive needs applications that's offer more than just long form content, of course usage is won't be that of Quora but what hive needs apps that innovating and creating new solutions to reasons why hive is used by everyone. Although on the outside it may seem just a question and answer platform but it will address more than that.
Also the beneficiaries any app takes are pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things and won't be a reason can succeed or not.
Yeah I agree Hive needs innovators to create things that attract and retain users.
I don't think mirroring a thing like Quora, which can only be successful with high participation is innovative at all though.
It's just like that other idea of "crow sourced fact checking on Hive" which only received bot comments as engagement... and frustrated the people running it.
HIVE fails to attract both users and builders in mass because the chain offerings are too limited.
Core developers need to step their game up and also stop auto funding go-nowhere-projects simply because they're all chummy with each other.
No damn innovation here bro.
No chickens or eggs.
