I think there would be a lot less anger and frustration if down voters left a comment such as "I have downvoted this post for the following reason(s):" rather than just doing it. And maybe even leaving suggestions on what constitutes a quality post.

The quality rules for posts are subjective and you may have a good idea of what you believe they should be (and you may believe that everyone knows these rules) but that is not the case for many. Yes many people plead ignorance and know they are trying to do the minimum to get rewards (it's free money so that will never change) but these posts were a genuine attempt to help us become self sustainable so we can continue for many years to come. The rewards all stayed within the ecosystem rather than being withdrawn. The actual rewards are tiny and do not make much difference to us but it was heart warming to see players care enough about the game to try and do something.
We tried the DHF route at the beginning of the bear market and it didn't get passed but we were passionate enough about what we are doing to continue to cover our costs in anticipation of the next alt season (come on HIVE, time to join the party!).

Please remember there are many HIVE users who are new and when they see downvotes for no reason (even on posts that are obviously very low quality) it is a negative experience which may drive them away. If they saw a comment to teach them why the post was downvoted they may be encouraged to stick around and create better content.

Yes I was sarcastic in a discord group (one that thrives on sarcastic banter - nothing wrong with that) because I was angry and frustrated as one of my best friends and one of the biggest supporters of many projects on HIVE @stickupboys had had enough and was leaving. I am human. I have emotions. And there are plenty of food pics that don't get downvoted.
