Does Hive-Engine Limit the Number of Orders Accounts Can Place?

Hive-engine suffers a serious lack of liquidity. There simply is not enough orders on the table for people to reliably trade tokens.

The lack of liquidity negatively affects the HIVE-O-Sphere.

Now that I've staked all of the HE tokens that I care to stake, I've decided that I want to help with the liquidity problem. My plan is simply to drop a huge number of orders.

The table belows shows the sum of BUYS and SELLS listed on the open orders page for @yintercept. As you see I have 91 buy orders for 499,863 tokens totalling 12.63 HIVE. I have 79 sell orders for 32.50 HIVE.

I've noticed through the years that large transactions rarely work. So, my average buy order is 0.14 HIVE and my average sale order is 0.41 HIVE.

A week ago I ran into a problem. I had 200 orders. I tried placing new transactions. Both Hive-Engine and TribalDex would verify that it broadcast the order to the network. The system would not place the order.

Since HIVE Keychain does not carry through the error code, I was simply left in the dark as to the reason that the system would not broadcast the order.

I asked questions on AI and learned about an error that occurs when a user placed too many transactions.

I deleted a tonne of transactions and now I can place orders again, which led me to ask the question:

Does HIVE-Engine have a limit on the number of transactions that users can place on the engine?

Is the number 200?

I realize that the makers of HIVE-Engine have an ideological stance against writing documentation and that the question can only be answered by someone who took the time to read the code.

If there is a limit on orders; then I would like to state affirmatively that the limit is stupid.

HIVE Engine is dominated by robots. When a retail investor places an oder on HE a robot will place a counter bid at 0.00000001 over the investor's bid.

I accept this as reality. I react to the robots with an incremental strategy. I place a bid, the robot outbids. I place a second bid. The robot leaps my bid. I keep placing bids until the bid approaches the ask or the robot stops.

As a human, I don't want to take the time to cancel my bids.

I am using LINUX. The group cancel feature doesn't work. I can only cancel one bid at a time. It takes five seconds to delete the old bids and refresh the screen.

Manually deleting bids—one at a time—is just a waste of human life.

The residual bids I leave on the platform actually serve a purpose. They help improve the liquidity that the system lacks.

What often happens is that I push up the robot's bid to a point where sellers are willing to sell. They then place a sell that includes both the robot's bid and all of my residual bids.

It is in everyone's benefit that I leave the bids on the table.

The ideal trading environment has a huge number of orders on the line. The orders on the line provide liquidity.

Conclusion

I do not know why I was not able to place more than two hundred orders on HIVE Engine. The system does not carry the error messages through to the end user.

AI says that there is an error code. If HIVE Engine has a limit on the number of orders that a user can place; they should get rid of it.

The work around, of course, is to create multiple accounts. Our robot overlords have created multiple accounts.

HE suffers a serious lack of liquidity. The way to solve this problem is for people to drop more orders. I have orders with 45 HIVE. With HIVE trading at under a nickel, that is only $1.86. I want to increase the number of orders that I place on the platform.
