Yeah zapfics are great fun...

I think drabbles are more challenging... just long enough to be able to make exceptional use of every word for a complete story... but short enough to make it quite the challenge. I wrote a few for contests a couple of years ago and they always start off a couple of hundred words long and then comes crunch time hehe... learning to tighten one's writing and to include all the elements of a good story in 100 words - definitely a good lesson!
