Positive Thinking is a skill

In this life, as it is currently admonished, skills are what is left that will sustain humans in earning a living in this tough economic world. Education alone is no longer enough; survival now requires skills to scale through. This is why, even in schools these days, there are parts of the curriculum that introduce students to learning practical skills and help them understand the importance of these skills after graduation.

When we talk about skills, we do not only mean the handiwork type. One can have a skill inwardly that enables them to get things done easily. Such skills include the ability to work under pressure, public speaking skills, effective communication, and so on.

I have many skills that I have already noticed, and I am also sure that there are still some I am yet to identify. Additionally, when I give myself time to learn, I believe I can still develop new ones. One of the skills I possess that has helped my life so far is positive thinking.

While some people have not yet accepted this as a skill, positive thinking is a skill that has helped me immensely. Although it has not physically added money to my pocket directly, it has done more than that by attracting opportunities and opening up ways for me to source income.

Positive thinking simply means housing positive thoughts even in bad situations. This mindset has helped me scale through many difficult moments in life. Whenever there is a storm, my mind remains calm and focuses on the positive outcome of that situation. More often than not, these positive outcomes eventually come to pass exactly as I had envisioned them.

Many times, I have found myself in very tight situations where there seemed to be no help available to rescue me. Despite that, I still believed that things would be fine. In no distant time, help I never imagined would suddenly show up and silence the situation completely.

You know the Bible story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? When they were thrown into the fire and were expected to be burnt, they trusted that things would take a different turn, even though they did not know how. They believed that God would come through for them, and in the end, their unshaken belief and strong mindset saw them through.

In the place where I work, I have received extra tips from my boss because of the way I handle situations. I am never shaken, and I am never seen running from pillar to poll. I stay calm, strategize with a positive mindset, and in the end, things usually work out smoothly and easily.
