My first earning

My first earning/ pocket money ",everyone remembers the first time they earned money or received pocket money, it may be small in amount, but big in emotions and lessons.

Once upon a time I was a little girl in a community that seems so small in my eyes and heart, I have always been a very independent child growing up and that includes trying to earn money genuinely on my own.

Since my mom had a kiosk, where she sells foodstuff and frozen foods, of which I was in charge of, I made sure I utilize it as a training ground for my finance , mind you I was between the age of 10-12 years.

I had a very good relationship with customers, and these made them to support my little business I decided to create at the side, since am always at the shop attending to customers.

Me being at the shop never deprived me of receiving the necessary education I needed, if anything, I think it added alot of values to my life, which include how to manage my resources and also to create more from a tangible item.

I remember the first time my mom got me groundnut and Farina( a Nigerian side food which is locally consumed in the southern part of the country) as my first product to sell.

I started selling this Farina and breakable groundnut, the sales where so massive making me so excited and encouraged.( massive in the sense that every naira count as a child)

This was my first business earning, from the earning, I bought my first jamb form( Nigerian entry exam into the university) I never bothered my parents about that, I was able to provide little things for myself as a preteen and teenager.

Trust me, this business venture made me value money and respect the hussle adult put in to take care of their family.

I learnt how to tolerate and relate with customers at a very early age, that is one thing that has stock with me ever since.
