The world we live in today, is a beautiful place that houses a whole lot of different personalities. As beautiful as the world is, it operates in quite an interesting way of give and take. To get one thing, the receiver must give another thing. Nothing in this world comes without a cost. To learn a new thing, somebody must pay attention and spend their time trying to understand what they want to learn.
These payments can be in diverse forms - attention, services, money, or even trading one goods for another goods. However, the most common form of payment is with money. In our world today, it seems like money is the fuel that propels the world forward.
Everybody wants money and they have what they want to use that money for. So want money to care for their kids, while some want it to care for themselves. Again, some also want money to buy luxury and live large, but the big question I tend to ask is - How much does a man actually need in life? How much money can we hoard and by contempt with the figure in our bank account? When we keep playing the game of financial staking without sharing or stopping, does that makes us greedy?
Most times, I get lost in thoughts when thinking of these questions. I guess i will share some of my thoughts here, in this post. This post is an entry for India United Community contest, How much money do you actually need to stop worrying about finances and live freely? In this post I will share my perspective of the questions above.
So far, many people I came across wants two things, which are fortune and fame. They can go to any lengths possible to get these two things. So scam people for money, some go through juju (voodoo) for their money, some do illegal things for money, while some work really hard and pass through a lot of stressful and unfavorable conditions just to make their money in a legit way. everybody has their diverse hustle, but one thing I always advice people is to not make money in a way that will not put their conscience at peace.
Financial freedom is a beautiful thing. I also want to reach the point of financial freedom. I guess we all want that too. I don't really think there is a fixed amount for somebody to earn and say thats all they need in life. I think it differs from people to people. From my perspective, I don't really think there will be a time to stop searching for money.
No matter how rich I become tomorrow, I will still invest in diverse things that will bring money to my bank account. I have a split mindset of whether or not this is greed, but then, for somebody that has tasted probably one of the lowest level of being broke, I don't really think I would want me or my generation to pass through that kind of level. I don't think I would ever stop worrying about making more money.
I like to make money, but I hate the fame that comes with it. Take the fame, give me the fortune. Being famous is not my thing. My dreams are way bigger than being on the rich list for people to see and marvel at how wealthy I am. I prefer to be a low key billionaire that extends his wealth to people far and wide through charity.
