The Things I Love Doing The Most

Humans naturally do different things at different times. You find yourself doing one thing and at some point you also realize you love doing something else. And then you wonder which among all you love the most because you love what you are doing.

What is /are the things you love doing? Indiaunited Contest

Before I delve into what I love doing the most I would like to talk about the things I love doing. As a person there are various things I enjoy doing. Things that make me happy that I do even in my dream, lol.

I love singing a lot. I can sing to save a soul😁. Sometimes even in my dream I find myself singing that even when I wake up I’ll wake up with the same song. Singing makes me happy and I sing to be happy too. Whenever I feel down or worried, singing lifts my spirit. When I'm working or walking I sing to energize my body and soul. It's one of the things that gives me joy. That even led me to join the choir group in my church. I sing when I'm cooking or doing any chores in the house. If I'm not singing aloud, I'll be singing in my mind that makes me to always wear a smiling face to the extent that sometimes anyone around me would ask me why I'm smiling and I'd in return answer that I'm not smiling because it's unknown to me that I was actually smiling.

The second thing I love doing is rendering help. I love helping people. I derive joy in doing that. I see others' challenges as mine ( I think this is my flaw). I don't like seeing someone in need of something I know I have the capacity to do and refuse to do it. Though some people seem to take this for granted which almost made me have a change of heart. But then, on a second thought I asked myself, would you change who you are because of other people's character? Though it's not always easy for one to withstand such a negative attitude, then one has to be one’s self.

Now to answer the question properly, I'd like to start with a short story about what I love doing the most. During my secondary school days I formed a study group in my final year where I teach and share knowledge about some lessons that's not easily understood with some of my classmates. There I share knowledge and strategies on how I study on my own with my peers.

After our secondary school, while we were preparing for our entrance examination into the University the group still continued. Then we usually use my house as a study centre. When I eventually gained admission into the University I also did the same. Mostly, we use the classroom but when it comes to private teaching especially on weekends I use my hostel. These I do for free. I love teaching/educating with passion.

When I went for my National Youth Service Corps(NYSC, a mandatory programme done in Nigeria by graduates from all tertiary institutions), I had the opportunity to serve in the bank but I preferred a secondary school because I wanted to teach. I always held a tutorial for the SSS3( Senior Secondary School 3) students after school both on weekends. It was a memorable experience I had there and I felt fulfilled doing it. The teachers and students never wanted me to leave after my one year service there. But I had to, and I did.

The school where I first taught after my NYSC I only worked for 6 months there and I was appointed as the Head of Teachers over many others who were there before me. A month after that appointment I was elevated to the post of a supervisor. I teach extra classes for students who are somehow not fast in learning. That alone grew their love and that of their parents towards me. I also love educating people on wellness that people close to me call me doctor, lol. I love and enjoy teaching/educating with a passion.

Conclusion

There are other things I love doing other than singing and helping people but I limited it to these two in order not to make the post too long. Teaching/educating is what I love doing most. Let me stop here till some other time.
