Discovering My Innate Potential Keeps Me Here On Hive

“Whatever that does not increase you, decreases you”. This is my usual quote, to keep me in check in whatever I get myself involved in or wherever I find myself. And to a greater extent, it has really helped me not to get stuck at a particular point for long.

Before I joined Hive,whenever I'm scrolling on any social media, after 10-20 minutes of my time there I'll stop and ask myself, “what value are you getting here now?” That self-asked question would determine whether I'd continue or not.

Again, social media is mostly filled with toxicity. People attack you for reasoning or expressing your mind differently from popular opinion. Which in most cases forces one to rather go mute or be ready to give them aura for aura, lol.

When I heard about Hive, I never knew such a platform existed, a place where users could express themselves based on their niche. Upon joining I noticed it's an entirely different form of social platform. A community filled with love and kindness. A place where people go out of their ways to support others without hesitation.

On top of that, you connect and engage meaningfully with like minds,.sharing and gaining knowledge. The sweetest part being that you get rewarded for every little time you spend here, which is not obtainable in other socials except you have large followers and your page being monetized.

Aside from all those mentioned above, one of the biggest reasons why I'm still hanging here is that Hive brought out an innate trait I never knew I have. Although, back then in secondary school I knew I usually performed well in essay writing, but I never gave it a thought to harness it nor was I encouraged to do so.

But my joining the Hive community has helped me discover that, learn more and I'm growing in it. Before being part of this amazing platform, I could hardly write a hundred word article. Today, that has changed. Again I say, “whatever that doesn't increase you, decreases you”. Indeed, Hive increases me.

I know anything that has advantages also has its disadvantages, so also is Hive. But where the former outweighs the latter, the outcome is justified. Hence, I'd rather remain where I'd freely express myself without fear or bias, learn, grow and discover my hidden potentials than chase clout
