«Compadre, ¿Vamos a ir a tomarnos unas cervezas?».

«Compay, compay, Es... Es... Un... Muerto... Está... Colgado».

"Dude, are we going to go have some beers?" Joseph urged his friend.
"Of course I do, buddy, I'm drinking to get rid of this stress." Luis let out a despondent sigh.
"That beggar architect was fucking with the columns thing, as if we didn't know how to do the blessed job. If he weren't the boss, I would have punched him in the face. Haha." Joseph clenched his fist and held it up to his friend's face.
"Well, compadre, we're going to distract ourselves with the Brunette girls tonight. Let it be worth the salary we earn. Haha." Luis was rubbing his hands.
"Haha. Let's keep working, before the architect comes to fuck." Luis took the tools and headed to the building under construction.
The construction work continued without any setbacks. The hours passed quickly, while the sun punished the workers with the infernal heat. The building was gradually rising above the bluish firmament.
The end of the working day was coming and the tired and aching men took their tools and left the construction site. José was looking for Luis among the men who were walking as if on a pilgrimage.
"Buddy, buddy, are you ready for tonight yet?"
"Sure, buddy, I'm going to my house, I'm going to take a bath, I'm going to get ready and we're going out to the bar." Luis showed a cheerful smile.
"Okay, would you like to meet me at 8 o'clock at the bar?"
"It seems very good to me. Get ready, buddy, we're gonna get drunk all the way to the flip-flops. Haha." Luis placed his hand on José's shoulder.
The two friends were saying goodbye and each one took different paths. The dark curtain covered the bluish sky, and the yellowish lights illuminated the paved roads of the city. Luis was leaving the apartment and heading to the bar where he was going to meet his friend José.
An hour later, Luis arrived at the spot and saw José next to the crimson door.
"Compadre, I thought you wouldn't come. Haha." Joseph was shaking hands effusively with his friend.
"How do you think, my friend. It's Friday and I wouldn't miss the fun for anything. Haha. Let's get the money ready to drink the rum." Luis was opening the door. "Keep going, keep going, buddy."
"What kindness, my friend! Haha." Joseph was entering the place.
The music sounded loud with those melodies that encouraged the poor workers, the colored lights flickered, cyclically showing the ecstatic faces of so much liquor. The voices sounded at high frequencies to surpass the volume of the music and the sensual bodies of the women swayed as they passed from table to table, with the precious liquor.
There were Luis and José with the rum, the beers and two beautiful women who kept the men company. They felt in glory, while the liquor was gradually dominating the minds. The hours passed quickly and the new day arrived, suddenly the music stopped and a low voice was heard over the speakers.
"The bar is closing its doors. Thank you for preferring us."
"Oh, man, this is over. Time to go back to the little house. Haha." Luis was getting up unsteadily.
"Dude, don't fall down. The drink hit him hard. Haha." Joseph was holding his friend.
"I'm fine, compay, don't worry. Haha." Luis clung firmly to José.
"We're going out and I'll take him to his house." Joseph was holding his friend by the waist.
The intoxicated men were leaving the place, the cold of the early morning enveloped their bodies and the dim lights showed the lonely road that led them to Luis's apartment. After a few minutes they arrived at a park with crooked log trees, which in the dark took on a macabre tint.
"Wait, buddy, let's rest for a moment. I'm exhausted. Haha." Luis was sitting on one of the wooden benches in the park.
"Let's take another sip of rum, it's what will give us strength to continue. Haha." José drank from the bottle and Luis passed it to him.
"Compadre, what is that?" Luis was pointing at that mysterious thing.
"It looks like a hanging garbage bag." José was rubbing his eyes.
"Don't be a donkey, buddy, as it's going to be a garbage bag." Luis was getting up moved by curiosity.
Joseph was crawling after his friend.
"Wait a minute, I can barely walk. Haha."
A chilling breeze began to move between them. Luis came to the tree and looked at a person hanging, took three steps back and fell to the ground.
"Compay, compay, It is... It is... A... Dead... He is... Hung up."
"What do you say, compadre?" José looked at the hanged person and fell down next to Luis.
They regained their composure, and the alcohol had disappeared from their bodies because of the fright.
"Oh my God, the police need to be called." Luis was picking up his friend.
Together they were approaching the hanged young man very slowly.
"Poor wretched soul. May God forgive him for what he has done." José was crossing himself and Luis was doing the same.
At that instant, the young man opened his eyes, which reflected an intense red, and an intense scream left the men scared to the core, they ran out like a soul that carries the devil. Their hearts seemed to be bursting out of their chests and the lack of oxygen made them gasp. They stopped for a moment to catch their breath and saw two policemen approaching on a motorcycle.
"Mr. Agent, Mr. Agent, there's a young man hanging in that park and he looks like he's a demon." Luis was pointing shakily towards the park.
The policemen and the men returned to the park, but there was nothing. One of the policemen looked at the men.
"Go away, you drunkards, or we'll arrest you for flouting the law."
The men were running out and the policemen were laughing.
This fictionalized story is about the hangman park, where many years ago a young man hanged himself on one of the trees, and the people of the sector say that at night the hangman appears, scaring more than one, that's why there is an altar to protect passers-by who walk through that sector late at night.

What a brilliant story you’ve created, based on both a true story and real photographs. Those stories set in the very places where people live are the most interesting, and from there you can create something just as you’ve done. I also really appreciate that you went to take photos in that park, which, yes, does look rather spooky.
They say that when a soul doesn’t die under normal circumstances, it might wander about without even knowing where it is, like the legends of roadside ghosts. And in this case, the circumstances of death are debatable, so it’s quite possible that many people really do see that spirit. Thank you so much for taking part in this month’s initiative; it’s always a pleasure to read your work. A big hug!!🤗
