Román miraba fijamente a Paul.
«No, ¿Por qué habría de haberlas?». Paul sonaba algo disgustado.
Román miraba casi suplicante a Paul.
«¿A qué te refieres?».
«Maldito, me has engañado». Román tomaba por el cuello a Paul.
«Cálmate, cálmate, Román, te has vuelto loco».

Attention, attention, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake shook Apul this morning. Terrible damage to the infrastructure of the city is forecast, we will continue to report on up-to-date news.
"Paul, you saw that, what terrible news!». Roman was walking into his partner's office.
"It's terrible, I'm really scared of tremors. I hope there is not much to regret." Paul stood up and headed toward the board. "I'm looking at how we're going to do the throttle maintenance."
"Don't tell me they're going to turn it off." Roman opened his eyes to the maximum of his sockets.
"We are already doing it, at times, but we have a big blackout planned for within a week, meanwhile we are going to make fleeting blackouts to advance the maintenance works." Paul was subtly tapping the white board with the pencil. "In fact, this morning I gave the order to turn off the accelerator for a moment."
"Don't you think there might be some affectation?" Roman was staring at Paul.
"No, why should there be?" Paul sounded a little upset.
"Well, the accelerator has been working for several years. Maybe it can affect the planet, we are dealing with particles and don't forget the micro black holes we have created."
"That's not a problem, micro black holes are momentary and disappear in seconds. And they are only particles that we collide, that has nothing to do with the planet. Stop worrying. Haha." A nervous smile showed Paul.
Roman looked at Paul in surprise and left the office. He was going to his office to check his earrings, at that moment, they were giving an information on television.
Attention, last minute, a new earthquake of magnitude 7.4 has been detected in Siberian. At the moment, panic and chaos are taking over the cities of the country. The authorities are taking charge of the emergency, we will continue to inform...
Roman stared in amazement at the images of the devastation. He stared at nothing, while Paul came in with some papers.
"Roman, the reports..." Paul looked at him strangely. "What's the matter with you?"
Roman was shaking his head.
"At what time did they turn off the accelerator?" Roman was anxiously addressing Paul.
"A few hours ago." Paul was sitting down.
"Look at this." Roman was posting the news. "Don't tell me it's a coincidence."
Paul was watching the terrible scenes of the earthquake.
"Roman, you need to stop watching so much conspiracy theory. That's overriding your scientific reasoning."
"Suspend the blackouts, while we investigate what is really happening." Roman looked almost beseechingly at Paul.
"Okay, but only for a week. I can't delay with this. The powers that be won't like it. And I hope that leaves you calmer and you get out those nonsense that you have in your head. Haha." Paul got up and was leaving.
Roman was still watching the devastation caused by the earthquake in Siberia. In the following days, earthquakes and quakes kept happening in different parts of the world. Roman was on his way to Paul's office.
"Paul, what's going on with the accelerator?" Roman looked at him disgusted.
"What do you mean?" Paul was taking off his glasses.
Roman was throwing at him the newspapers that reported on the earthquakes.
"Don't tell me this has nothing to do with the throttle shutdowns."
"You're crazy, stop making up conspiracies. We have not turned off the accelerator." Paul got up from the desk and walked toward Roman.
"Oh, I see, excuse me, I thought..."
At that moment, Paul's secretary came in.
"Sir, the reports of the micro blackouts you requested." The red-haired woman was handing over the papers.
"Damn, you've cheated on me." Roman was taking Paul by the throat.
"Calm down, calm down, Roman, you've gone crazy."
Chaos reigned at that time. The secretary ran out, while the men clashed.
"Do you want to destroy the world?" Roman was carrying Paul against one of the walls, while holding him by the collar of his shirt.
"Roman, calm down, this has nothing to do with earthquakes. The studies are done. We have ruled out any relationship between the accelerator and the earthquakes. You can read the reports." Paul was pointing at the desk.
Roman went to the papers and started reading. Paul would come up from behind with a vase and hit him on the head. Roman fell to the ground; then the guards arrived and took him away.
"You're going to end the planet, you're going to end the planet. Stop him, stop him, that man doesn't know what he's doing!». Roman was moving violently as the officers took him away.
"Gee, that man went crazy." Paul was adjusting his tie. "Señorita, have them prepare the total shutdown of the accelerator and don't forget to prepare my helicopter."
"Very well, sir." The secretary was leaving the office.
Paul was picking up the red phone.
"Everything is ready, sir, studies indicate that the devastation is on a large scale. The 2030 plan is underway. I hope everyone is in the bunkers." Paul was going out with his secretary to the helicopter and some executives.
After a few hours, the scientists entered the accelerator control room, took out their keys, and placed them on the panel. They turned them, and a red button lit up. One of the scientists was pressing the button and at that moment everything went dark.
