Greetings my Hive Friends!
In my earlier blog, I wrote about ancient Chinese technology and scientific evolution from the study of cosmology, wood engineering, water engineering, and some related developments in modern science. This is the last part of my visit to the China Science and Technology Museum to have a grasp on the overall development in science up to the most recent days. Visiting new places is always fun and good for me as I love traveling. As a research student, it's common to take a break from lab work to get away from the stress of everyday life and feel better. Usually, I visit the natural scenic spots in most of the cases, but museums, on the other hand, are places where people can learn about the history and culture of the places they live. I try to go to them often. That's why I'm going to take you to Beijing City's China Science and Technology Museum.
This museum isn't only about Chinese traditional history or how Chinese culture has changed over time, but also it displays the most recent technologies in every sector of science. If you want to learn about the scientific evolution over time, you should go to the National Museum of China, which is right in the middle of Beijing City and also very close to the Forbidden Kingdom. Also, each person needs to pay 30 RMB to enter the Science and Technology Museum, but the National Museum is free to enter China; you just need to book a ticket with your ID because there will be a lot of people there. Today I am going to talk about the inventions and the advancement s in science and technology in the twenty-first century.
The first sector that I am going to talk about is the development in the science of robotics which has amazed me with the integration of robotics with artificial technology. Here, the museum shows some of the latest developments in robotics and AI for some interesting activities by these robots. I have explored these robots with great interest as many of my colleagues are working with the human-machine interface with the self-powered sensor we developed in our lab.
The first robot that attracted me most was the artist robot that was playing a musical instrument with any music you will tell it. I saw many people were so interested in exploring that robot. As I don't know the Chinese language, I can't command it for a specific song to play. Later I saw the robot pl; playing with the basketball. Though it was not a complete robot but a robotic arm that was excellent for throwing the ball into the basket.
I have seen, a chess player robot that was playing Chinese chess with more than five people at a time without any mistakes. Another robot that I want to share is the human movement-mimicking robot that can mimic the live movement of the visitor within seconds.
In the later section, I want to talk about the space technology that the current China has contributed to in the world of space science and space technology. The first spacecraft that the museum shows us the moon rover project form Chinese Space research which is a great advancement of scientific research of China. After the USA and Russia, China has become an important player in space research and spacecraft engineering successfully.
We can also explore the Chinese engineering marvel of the Chines own Space Station known as the "Tiangong space station" which is really an amazing milestone in the achievement of space research and space technology. And there are many regular traveling of astronauts to the Tiangong space station for many research purposes. The whole demo model of the Tiangong space station is placed on the ground floor of the museum which can be explored by any visitors without any tickets.
Later section that I want talk in the later section is the medical science where many biological science has been displayed for easy understanding about our body and many other microscopic life. From the DNA to the virus bacteria and cell science science is introduced briefly here.
Also, we can explore the medical technology in the museum which displays many medical treatments ways and some traditional treatment systems developed in China. As you must know China has its own traditional medicine system where many kinds of herbs are being used for that medicine. I have also some experience with this medicine which is much safer as dozes are ower with less damage to the inner organs. But the treatment speed is much lower and need to take a lot of medicines at once I took, around 10 medicines at once where 4 were the same medicines!
I have visited the last section of the museum where the geological and natural resource collection technology in renewable energy or other energy and resource harvesting technology. Wind energy harvesting, hydroelectricity, and many mineral collection techniques are displayed there.
I hope you like my visit to such an amazing place on my weekend. It was amazing to have such tours to an amazing place like this with the history of science and lose myself away from the whole busy life! If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
Thanks a lot for your time and attention, I will catch you at the next one.
Wish you a great day!
Dear @tanzil2024 !
Hassan!
