Being a new person here is challenging. There are multiple layers when introducing new people to HIVE and there are also expectations from all around where it's actually not that different from professional IRL life but the thing here, IMO it all comes down to why are they here and why do they want to be here? If it's just a hobby, I am sure being rewarded or not, they won't have a problem, they are more than just happy to get more exposure of their work and another place to share their work.
I think the main challenge has always been wording around here. Like we have the word "power up" but the interface is actually say things like "stake". There are many inconsistencies in wording that cause people to get confused of this place. So when you say " you have to power up" but the button isn't there with the word " power up" people get confused. Mind you, not everyone is tech savvy and that's how I learned when guiding new people transitioning from other space to this space hehe
I truly don't think it's more challenging to start at Hive than to start on YT or X... When you know 0 people, it's hard on ANY platform... but... the answer lies in this...
If you are here to enjoy it as a social network, you will not have any issues at all... or as you said, like a hobby to spread the word about what you are doing... But, we both know when it gets "overcomplicated"... When you want to get big upvotes, when you "demand" more attention to your posts, when you want to get hundreds of bucks in the first week, etc.
I do agree about wording and those specific things... there should be a better U/X experience and easier understanding... But, IMO, those are just small tweaks that can be solved... Btw. I like what you did on your event, changing the wording about "earning on HIVE"... 😉
