It's a Tuesday, so that means I'm in the office. The trip down to the office was smoother than I anticipated and honestly speaking, it's getting less and less annoying.
So far, I've only spent around 1 hours on the phone, while the other minutes were spent managing teams. Lots of team leaders were in meetings and so, it required getting some hands on deck to manage teams.
Unlike my role as a call center agent, the responsibility of a manager seems to be never ending. As an agent, I only have to worry about calls and once the day ends, that's it.
As a manager, you have to be actively involved in the lives of your team members. This could mean talking with them when they're sick, off work and weekends, when you're not even on duty.
I like the general idea of having a managerial position and I'm slowly preparing myself towards it. In a few days, I'd have completed my first certification in project management and while it is not actually a leadership training, it equips me with some of the basics I'll need for the role.
I'm excited to hear what comes from my meeting with my leaders on Friday. I'm keeping my options open with the trainings and courses. Fingers crossed.
