I was doing some macro photography on a rose when I saw a moth flying around our basement. I took the opportunity to move it onto the rose and I was lucking that it was content on just hanging out for me while I made a couple of photo stacks. The detail in the wings was just amazing and it really gets me excited to do more high magnification photos.
The wing was shot at 5x with my Nikon d7200 and Venus Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra-Macro lens. The moth on rose was shot at 1x with my Tamron 90mm F2.8 SP Macro 1:1 AF-D lens
Wow! What an incredible happenstance! Lovely shots my friend. I would suggest adding more shots in your posts. I'm sure you captured more beauty to share! hahaha
There would have been more shots for sure, but the moth started to get a little photo shy. after chasing it around my room I was able to get it into a container and decided it was time to let it go outside.
Hahahaha.... i usually catch and release the moths too. I have a feeling the Rose would have been amazing to see more of too. =) Cheers
