Things are turning white =/= Alles wird immer weißer 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER
I knew in advance that it was supposed to snow yesterday, but I had not expected that the snowfall would extend over two days. Now at the end of the year it is actually time for the first real snow, but somehow I was still surprised how much we already got. In the last post I had shared a few first pictures of the landscape which winter has transformed into a white splendor, and since then the snow cover has grown further.
Fortunately, we still can cope with the snow in front of the house, although it has also piled up to about 20 centimeters here. But I can deal with that and still manage to get the entrance area clear in a relatively short time so that we can leave the house if we have to. But in the mountains, it has probably gotten up to one and a half meters. And if you find such a snow load in front of your own house, you will probably have to skip the next day for the time being. But it has not yet come to that over here yet, although I guess even here in the city today life should be quite impaired. But since I'm still working mostly at home, at least I'm spared driving in the morning. Let's see how it will look in the evening.
DEUTSCH
Das es am gestern schneien sollte, war auch mir im Vorfeld bekannt, aber hatte ich doch nicht damit gerechnet, dass sich der Schneefall über zwei Tage hinziehen würde. Jetzt zum Jahresende ist es ja eigentlich auch mal Zeit für den ersten richtigen Schnee, aber irgendwie war ich dann doch überrascht, wie viel es nun bereits geworden ist. Im letzten Beitrag hatte ich ja ein ein paar erste Bilder von der nun wie verwandelt darliegenden Landschaft geteilt, und seitdem ist die Schneedecke weiter gewachsen.
Zum Glück ist es bei uns vor dem Haus noch im Rahmen geblieben, obwohl es auch hier so rund 20 Zentimeter geworden sind. Aber damit kann ich umgehen und schaffe es immer noch in relativ kurzer Zeit, den Eingangsbereich frei zu bekommen, damit wir das Haus verlassen können, wenn wir denn müssen. Aber in den Bergen sollen es wohl bis zu eineinhalb Metern geworden sein. Und wenn man solch einen Schneelast vor dem Haus zu liegen hat, fällt der nächste Tag wohl erst einmal aus. Aber soweit ist es bei uns ja noch nicht gekommen, obwohl heute wohl auch hier in der Stadt das Leben ganz schön beeinträchtigt sein dürfte. Aber da ich je weiterhin meist zu Hause arbeite, ist mir zumindest am Morgen das Autofahren erspart geblieben. Mal schauen, wie es am Abend aussehen wird.
There is still quite some vegetables on the field, especially all kind of cabbage. I heard the snow might help to keep it fresh longer, so hopefully we will still be able to enjoy some green during the next weeks.
Es gibt noch einiges an Gemüse auf dem Feld, vor allem alle Arten von Kohl. Ich habe gehört, dass der Schnee dazu beiträgt, das Gemüse länger frisch zu halten, so dass wir hoffentlich auch in den nächsten Wochen noch etwas Grün genießen können.
But between all the white, there are also still some other colors to discover. Of course there is still some green, which isn't covered yet, but on the field I could also spot some red peppers and chili, which are still holding on. Not sure how those can cope with the cold and the snow, but that sight was a nice fiery change in all the heavy white around me.
Aber zwischen all dem Weiß gibt es auch noch einige andere Farben zu entdecken. Natürlich gibt es hier und dort noch etwas Grün, das noch nicht bedeckt ist, aber im Garten konnte ich auch einige rote Paprika und Chili entdecken, die sich noch zu halten scheinen. Ich weiß aber dann doch nicht, wie diese mit der Kälte und dem Schnee zurechtkommen, aber dieser Anblick war eine schöne feurige Abwechslung in all dem schweren Weiß um mich herum.
Now that it had snowed all night, it is no surprise how it looked outside this morning. The snow became higher and higher and on the parking lots in the surrounding area quite a few cars were snowed in and had to be left there on this day. We will probably see this again in the next few weeks and there might be days when you can hardly see the cars anymore. Outside it is still snowing a lot, let's see how things will turn out tonight and especially the next day. Although it's supposed to get milder in the middle of the week, I'm still slightly nervous right now about what might be coming. I will keep you posted....
Da es nun die ganze Nacht durchgeschneit hatte, sah es natürlich am Morgen draußen dementsprechend aus. Der Schnee wurde immer höher und auf den Parkplätzen in der Umgebung waren etliche Autos eingeschneit und mussten an diesem Tag wohl stehen gelassen werden. Dieser Anblick wird sich wohl in den nächsten Wochen öfters wiederholen und wahrscheinlich wird es auch noch Tage gehen, an denen man die Autos kaum noch sehen kann. Draußen schneit es immer noch viel, mal sehen, wie es heute abend und vor allem am nächsten Tag. Obwohl es in der Wochenmitte es milder werden soll, bin ich im Augenblick doch leicht nervös, was da nocj kommen könnte. Ich werde euch auf dem Laufenden halten...
