Very beautiful rhinocerus beetle (probably Oryctes rhinoceros). Nice that your father helped it to survive.

There are a lot of insects around here, but I don't really know the names. I sometimes reverse search the photos I took to find out what they are. Sure... will do so the next time I take photos of insects... :)
