Last weekend I noticed that the subject of the Qurator Photography Quest of this week was waterfalls. A subject that I really like. I have visited a lot of waterfalls in my life already and so I have quite a lot of pictures of them as well. A waterfall is always different. The water never flows the same.
We don't have real waterfalls in the Netherlands, which makes it extra special for me to visit them when I'm on holiday.
I had been collecting photographs for this contest already during this week, but tonight I noticed that the deadline is in a few hours, so I needed to choose the one for the contest and add a bit of information about my pictures in the post as well.
It was quite difficult to choose the submission for this contest since the most impressive waterfall doesn't necessarily is the best photo as well.
I've chosen the following show because it was one of the first times I was playing with my shutter speed at a waterfall to create this 'glassy' effect.
Apart from a little blown out pieces I was quite happy with the result.
This was a waterfall in the French alps by the way.
The following picture is an artificial waterfall in Italy. The environment looks natural with the rocks, but the beautiful light blue water is actually lead through the gorge on purpose. It did result in some nice pictures. And it was a great place to go for a swim too.
Here we have the biggest waterfall in The Netherlands. This picture says enough I think....
The following picture was from a waterfall we visited in the Pyrenees last year. It was quite a climd to get there, but it was worth the effort. I love the rainbow that was created by sun and the drops in the sky.
A bit further down this same waterfall there were lovely little old bridges over the stream.
Here is another waterfall in France. This one was in the Vosges region. We did a quite a long climb alongside the waterfall which allowed me to make a couple of nice photographs.
The most impressive waterfall is definitely the Victory waterfall in on the edge of Zimbabwe and Zambia. You could see the damp of this giant waterfall from kilometers distance. The surrounding area is tropical because it's always wet there. It was just so hard to capture the massiveness of this waterfall.
I also like this last shot of the Vic Falls where I captured a double rainbow in the shot. I didn't pick this one for the contest because you can't see the waterfall itself very clearly in this shot.

The amazing view of the mountains with waterfalls is truly a symbol of captivating beauty. This special waterfall is truly a gift from the creator of the great beauty contest. Thank you for sharing the amazing Himalayan mountains with all of us along with the beautiful waterfalls and plants and nature and environment. Really great photography.
Thanks! It's not the Himalayas by the way. Except the last ones (Zimbabwe), they are taken in Europe.
But yes, European countries are very beautiful to look at.
My friend, this post is wonderful. You bring together so many places at once, and I think about how wonderful it must be to visit them. I'm very happy for you. The waterfall between Zimbabwe and Zambia is wonderful, but the photo of the double rainbow seems to be the winner. I loved it. What you say about the Netherlands is very interesting. I think I already suspected it from what little I know about its geography, but I see that you have made every effort to include it in this collection. Good job! ✌️
