A little history "Ninja Turtles"

Who suddenly did not know that the names of the heroes of the comic book, and later cartoon "Ninja Turtles", were taken from the Renaissance artists: Michelangelo Buonarroti, Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi, Raphael Santi, Leonardo da Vinci.

Initially the authors wanted to give the turtles Asian names (ninjas after all) but decided that it would be funnier to call the heroes the names of artists.
