As December approaches, around my ends, it's expected that the weather gets colder. Nothing crazy like snow or something like that, but the air gets a lot cooler.
Back in the day, we used to be greeted by the cold winds of the harmattan as early as late November.
I remember bathing in my boarding school backyard at 5:00 am, getting ready for morning mass. During this time of year, if you looked up into the part of the sky that was illuminated by the streetlight over the fence, you'd be able to literally see the fog in the sky. That was always so fascinating to me.

Every new season brings with it a spirit of newness. It's always so thrilling when the first rain of the season falls. We celebrate it here, like it's a wonder of the world. I believe it is. We obviously anticipate that the present season will eventually come to an end, and a new season will replace it.
But like a woman repeatedly shocked, month in month out, that the reason for her emotional outburst was because her period was to start the following day, we also repeatedly get excited at the first sign of a new season.
And so with the newness of this coming season, it is only right that we adjust an aspect of our routine to align with it. Such that we are moved to enjoy and appreciate it even better.
I already made the conscious decision to prepare myself spiritually for Christmas Day.
That's one way I plan to adjust for the new season. Besides this, I have three things lined up to do in preparation for the harmattan season/new month.
First off, I plan to start my days with a grounding ritual. Something to get me mentally, physically and emotionally ready for the day. I figured that a good morning sets a great time for the rest of the day.
And so a part of this grounding ritual will include: praying for thirty minutes, journaling for five minutes and reviewing my intentions for the day.
There is one thing I have consistently noticed about praying, and it is that I always feel better after doing it. If I was anxious before, the anxiety quietens with the knowledge that I have handed it over to someone more equipped to handle it.

And knowing that my day is going to be great even before it starts is always reassuring. Then I journal, because I believe that the words that appear on my heart after praying are worth noting down.
And lastly, I review my already set intentions for the day. Doing these three things ensures that I make the most out of the coming days of the new season.
Now that I have shared my seasonal adjustments, I want to know what you will also shake around in your life in order to accommodate the new season. Tell me two in the comments down below.

Something about something about me is that , I do love this season , and mostly because our church organizes programmes that helps and prepare us for a new year.
So prayer is a good thing
