Leipzig at Night 🔥 (WGT, Lacrimosa)

Am Sonntag spielte nach Clan of Xymox, She Past Away, London after Midnight, die deutsche-schweizer Band Lacrimosa in der agra Halle beim Wave-Gothic-Treffen (WGT) in Leipzig.

Die Lieder von Lacrimosa sind langsam, theatralisch, opernhaft, düster und melancholisch. Darkwave, Gothic. Die Bandname inspiriert von Mozarts Requiem Lacrimosa, die Tränenreiche.

Die Band wurde von Tilo Wolff gegründet, später stieß dann die Finnin Anne Nurmi hinzu. Tilo singt auf Deutsch, Anne auch auf Englisch und Finnisch.

Das erfolgreichste Album ist Elodia (1999), 2025 gelang der Band ein zweiter Chart-Hit mit Lament.

Was für ein schöner, musikalischer Ausklang nach einem langen Festival-Tag.

On Sunday, following performances by Clan of Xymox, She Past Away, and London after Midnight, the German-Swiss band Lacrimosa played at the agra hall during the Wave-Gothic-Treffen (WGT) music festival in Leipzig.

Lacrimosa’s songs are slow, theatrical, operatic, dark, and melancholic. Darkwave, Gothic. The band’s name is inspired by Mozart’s Requiem Lacrimosa, “The Tearful One.”

The band was founded by Tilo Wolff, and later joined by the Finnish singer Anne Nurmi. Tilo sings in German, while Anne also contributed songs in English and Finnish.

Their most successful album is Elodia (1999), in 2025, the band scored a second chart hit with “Lament.”

What a beautiful, musical band to end a long festival day.
