A Rocking Three Tune Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone. I hope the week is treating you well so far. It's not been too bad here. I just wish I had more free time, but such is life. It's Tuesday so it's time for some more fun rock n' roll as the header may have given away. So let's dive into the post!

First off I wanted to share a Silver Strike token I am looking for, and have yet to find a good deal. These silver tokens could be won by playing certain slot machines in the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and cruise ships including the Hard Rock. But now those machines are pretty much gone too, becoming nothing but a memory. This one came from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is now long since defunct. It was a great place in it's day!

These have 0.6 Troy ounces of pure silver surrounded by a brass ring. What I really like about this one is the motto "In Rock We Trust". What could be better for a Three Tune Tuesday? These tokens are getting more expensive as they came from an iconic venue in Las Vegas, and ever since silver prices spiked it's been hard to find any at a good price. I will finally get a complete collection of these, it's going to take time however...

The Scorpions

Formed in Hanover, Germany in 1965 this band had it's greatest success from 1978 to 1992. In 1982 they released the album Blackout with the hit "No One Like You". Over the next decade they had a string of hits before the classic lineup separated. The band continued but struggled to do well until a reunion tour in 2010. They still perform until this day. Here's "No One Like You":

The Smithereens

This band from Carteret, New Jersey formed in 1980. They had commercial success from the late 1980's to the mid 1990's with a string of hit songs. In 1986 the song "Blood and Roses" became a huge hit on MTV catapulting them to stardom. Although the band is still around today, original front man Pat DiNizio passed away in 2017 so they are using a new vocalist. I've always like this song, "A Girl Like You" from 1989:

Mötley Crüe

Mötley Crüe formed in Hollywood, California in 1981. They have always been known as the bad boys of rock, and their lifestyles live up to the title. Between drug abuse, overdoses, and drunken fatal collisions somehow all four original band members are still alive. They quickly gained fame in the heavy metal scene from 1981 and became a mainstream success in the late 80's and early 90's. This song comes from 1990 and is called: "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)"
