It's Tuesday, and you know what that means β time to share some tunes for the brilliant #threetunetuesday initiative started by @ablaze!
This week, my inspiration comes from an unlikely source, but one with a rock 'n' roll connection... If you saw my post on Saturday then you know that connection is Beavertown Brewery.
For info the post is Beavertown and Puss on Tap in Beer Saturday 410
Maybe you know their eye-catching cans and glasses like my one above, ot maybe you know one of their delicious craft beers like Gamma Ray or Neck Oil?
Well anyway I found out that Beavertown was founded by Logan Plant.
If that surname rings a bell, it not's really surprising as afterall he's the son of the legendary Golden God himself ~ Robert Plant ~ as in the frontman of the mighty Led Zeppelin!
So, inspired by the Plant connection via Beavertown, let's dive into three absolute classics from Led Zeppelin.
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 207 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post More Irish Tunes for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 207 - win 5 HBI
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the FIVE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
Seeing Logan forge his own creative path with Beavertown brewery and building something vibrant and psychedelic got me thinking about the fluffing monumental creative force that his father was part of.
Even though Led Zeppelin were before my time of course I know them. Led Zeppelin wasn't just a band, they were a phenomenon that redefined rock music in the 1970s.
They were formed in London in 1968 and the lineup was Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Paul Jones (bass/keyboards), and the late, great John Bonham (drums).
They created a sound that blended blues, hard rock, folk, and psychedelic influences into something entirely new and massively influential.
I am sure you know some of these songs, for the youngsters reading you might know the band but I am sure you will know the tune!
Whole Lotta Love was from the album Led Zeppelin II released in 1969.
God knows how many times I have heard this blaring out of pub jukeboxes when I have been drinking.
You can't talk Zeppelin without that riff. Whole Lotta Love opened their second album and is pure raw energy.
Built around in my opinion one of the all time greatest guitarists Jimmy Page's iconic, bluesy guitar figure and Bonham's thunderous drumming it's just fluffing awesome.
Plant's wailing vocals soar over the top, and the psychedelic, experimental mid-section still sounds wild today. It perfectly captures the raw power and blues roots that underpinned so much of their early work.
It hits you immediately just like a bold, flavourful beer!
Stairway To Heaven was from the album Led Zeppelin IV released in 1971.
Okay, it's perhaps the most famous rock song ever recorded, and for good reason. "Stairway to Heaven" is an epic journey in eight minutes.
I loved this song and played it at school for a reason...
Starting with delicate acoustic guitar and recorders, it gradually builds through layers of instrumentation β electric piano, bass, drums β culminating in Page's soaring, iconic guitar solo and Plant's powerful final verses.
Yep it got so many of us involved playing it, I was one of the ones playing recorder.
The mystical lyrics have fascinated listeners for decades, funnily enough not so much as I don't really interpret lyrics and wordsπ€£.
Kashmir was from the album Physical Graffiti released in 1975.
I have purposely chosen this version with Led Zeppelin performing 'Kashmir' live at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert at London's O2 Arena from the concert film 'Celebration Day'
Wherever John Bonham is, he would be proud to see that his son Jason is playing drums with his uncles, Robert, Jimmy and John Paul.
With Kashmir, India and Pakistan unfortunately in the news it was an obvious choice for me to include it.
This is actually my favourite Led Zeppelin song and Plant has often cited it as one of Zeppelin's finest achievements, capturing a feeling of driving through a barren landscape. Itβs grand, majestic, and showcases their more experimental, world-music-influenced side.
We are actually going out tonight to see our local orchestra so what better way to get into the mood with some strings and brass!
This is the kind of track you can get lost in, just like exploring the psychedelic artwork on my Beavertown glass.
So there you have it β three monumental tunes of rock from Led Zeppelin, sparked by the thought of Logan Plant's Beavertown Brewery. It's fluffing amazing how creativity runs through families, branching out into different, equally cool directions!
Mind you rock 'n' roll and beer go hand in hand, don't they!
I hoped you enjoyed watching and listening to these as much as I had showcasing them!
Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes πΆπ΅πΆ

Oh not seen that... thanks Mick, will try and find that πΈ
Great stuff today! I love me some Zeppelin. They were so good. I wish I could have seen them in concert. One of my favorite songs of theirs is Fool in the rain.
That is one gig I never experienced but am with you, would have loved to seen them live.
Oh yeah Fool in the rain was pretty different and cool, it had the Argentina football samba type vibes. It was one of their last songs too if I remember.
I got to see John's son play with some of the guys from Van Halen and that was a heck of a show.

Excellent choices from Led Zeppelin. I missed seeing them in concert.. had tickets but John Bonham died and that was that. Zeppelin is a legendary band.
Oh no what a shame, that would have been amazing. I never saw them in concert, one gig I would have loved to have experienced.
Awesome, but stairway to heaven, has to be numerous uno, for me.
Whole lotta love reminds me of Thursday night βtop of the popsβ!

Hi. Great post. Love Zeppelin. You chose great songs, truly legendary. But if you allow me to mention "Achilles Last Stand" from the album Presence. For me personally it is a phenomenal song and I think it is quite underrated.
