Pom Pom Squad’s remake of Nada Surf’s ‘Popular’. Is the High-School satire of the Year, they say and fans of Nada Surf (a great and underrated band if you ask me) agree that younger generations recognize this.

ŽEN - Krizantema

The female indie-post-rock trio ŽEN from Zagreb, Croatia, presents us the song 'Krizantema', for the upcoming, fourth studio album, which is announced for release in spring 2022.
Krizantema is inspired by the world that unfolds in cycles. It is about the circle of life, the constant change, and the transformation of energy. Nothing is standing still, it is just changing its form.

Harlem Lake - A Fool's Paradise

A new band for me, Harlem Lake, comes from the Netherlands. This is the title song of their debut album of the same name. They were the support act for Walter Trout and winners of the DBC (Dutch Blues Challenge). This album shows us how actually many musical styles can be combined in a very simple way and songs can be created with imaginative arrangements.
Very nice mood when I listen to this.

Cosmic Shift - Get Busy

Again new band for me, otherwise I was attracted to listen to the album by its psychedelic image ... due to their FB page:

Groovy, psychedelic funk band from Nashville, TN. Some have described their sound as space funk, though it can range wildly through many genres. More integral to the music than any genre or style is the renewing experience that many people have at their shows.

Yeah, I'd like to listen to them live.

Paraf - Dosta

Paraf is a legendary punk band from Rijeka, Croatia. For the end of the year, they tell us it’s ‘Dosta, Engl. Enough’. They are considered proponents of an honest, direct approach where there are no behind-the-scenes games and ambiguous interpretations. This song is a reaction to global pressure, no matter from which direction it comes and which does not make us happy.

Sleaford Mods - Don't Go

Sleaford Mods, a furious duo from Nottingham, covered one of the greatest hits of the British band Yazoo 'Don't Go', and flawlessly transformed this love synth-pop song in its specific vocal-musical expression.
Anyone who knows them knows that their songs are mainly about the lives of British working people, but that's another matter. I highly recommend it.

Nia Archives - 18 & Over

Another new name for me. Nia Archives is a DJ, she's from Manchester, the UK, this is her third single, she says that "she making soft-hearted lo-fi jungle for introverted extroverts." I say fuckin' good breakbeat. Recommended and I hope she releases her debut album soon.

Reveal - Cocoon (Bitch Regalia)

Reveal is a band coming from Uppsala, Sweden, the traditional breeding ground of authentic death, black and gothic metal. Reveal is no exception. This song is the introduction to their latest (third) album 'Doppelherz', which contains all sub-genres of metal in the songs and is therefore even more extreme metal. A must for fans.
