People in line on April 19 to buy tickets for Maggie Rogers performance at the House Blues, Chicago

Hello, Hivers and music lovers!

It's Tuesday! And that means a day to share some music on Hive thanks to #threetunetuesday.

For today, I am going to share some songs by a singer that I discovered by chance. If any of you have read my blog A little walk at Chicago's Riverwalk, you may remember that I mentioned that on one of the bridges that crosses the Chicago River, there was a huge line of people. The line was several blocks long and it was people waiting to buy tickets for a show at the House of Blues, a well-known restaurant in the city that is also a concert hall.

After our walk, we were curious so we looked for information and found out that the singer who was going to perform is called Maggie Rogers.

Maggie Rogers is a young American indie pop singer, who became known after a video of her in a Master Class with music producer Pharrell at New York University went viral. When I saw the video I realized that it was not the first time I saw it. During the months of confinement in the pandemic, my husband showed it to me and we talked about it and the look on the girl's face that couldn't believe how well it had gone. I didn't keep track of her after that, and when I heard the name Maggie Rogers I never imagined she is the girl of that video until I started looking for information about her for the #ttt. So here is the video

Since then Maggie Rogers' musical career has been on the rise. She has a beautiful voice and I've been listening to some of her songs to put together a selection and share some of them with you. But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background for those of you who aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of @ablaze, who started the initiative.

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

You can find out more at ablaze's post with his recommendations for this week the #155.

And without further ado, let's go with the tunes.

Tune 1 - Maggie Rogers - Don't Forget Me

This is one of Maggie Rogers' most recent releases.

Don't Forget Me is the promotional song from her latest album which was just released last month, April 2024.

Tune 2 - Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am

I chose the following song because I was looking for one of his live performances. And I came across this one.

The song is called That's Where I Am and in this video, she performs it at the 2022 Coachella music festival, one of the biggest in the United States.

Tune 3 - Maggie Rogers - Light On

The third song, is called Light On, and was released in 2018. But I also found out that it is one of the songs included in the soundtrack of The Idea of You, a romantic comedy recently released on Primevideo starring Anne Hathaway.

Have you ever listened to Maggie Rogers? What is your favorite song of the three? Tell me in the comments.

Thank you very much for reading!

Enjoy the music, and enjoy life!

What a beautiful experience you have had on your visit to Chicago. It doesn't surprise me that there were so many people queuing to buy tickets for the concert, the voice and music of "Maggie Rogers" is wonderful.
This is the first time I've heard her songs, and to be honest, I loved it. Of the three songs, the one I like the most is the last one, “Light On.”
Beautiful selection this week, I appreciate that you let us know this artist
Have a splendid afternoon dear friend @coquicoin

Hello Hello Super Eli and well this is new to me! Maggie Rogers the name seems familiar but then again it is quite common.

Maggie Rogers is a young American indie pop singer

Cool 😍

Exciting was then that rediscovery of this girl... I'm so glad you had that opportunity! I'm smiling while I write this comment.

I found a reason to wake up
Coffee in my cup, start a new day
Wish we could do this forever
And never remember mistakes that we make

Gracias por compartir estas hermosas canciones. Me gusta mucho Maggie. 🙃😇

Where has this little girl been all my life? 😱

I've just come from watching several #tttt, but this one takes the cake, I just met her 5 minutes ago and I already love Maggie Rogers. I love that you started with Don't Forget Me because it was the best cover letter, what an awesome voice and enviable confidence, I don't understand how I didn't know her. Thank you, thank you, thank you, I have so much to keep listening to and saving in my playlists and that makes me so excited!!!!!
