My Actifit Report Card: April 28 2026

Hey Actifitters,

Another busy day at work yesterday, preventing us from our usual activity. So Le Chat took the opportunity to sleep a little more on the dog bed. I'm sure she didn't want to but what else could she do?...

But at least, unlike the day before, we managed to get out for our daily walk before sundown.

Just as we entered the small forest behind the front yard, Kaia gave us a scare. I was talking about that just a few days ago. She's quite obedient even though we never trained as seriously as we did with Genepi. But when she starts chasing deer, it's obviously another story. Unless I am very loud and firm, she often claims not to hear me and only comes back after the failed chase. Well, imagine when it's a dog-looking critter encounter! And that's what suddenly jumped in front of us. Based on the size and what I could see, it was most likely a fox. All training went out the window and she was absolutely oblivious to my yelling. I was very worried she would actually catch it and she could get injured, but also she might kill it because she's significantly bigger. It's not a pet but I still don't want it to die. Anyways, it managed to escape somehow, both Kaia and I have no idea how it disappeared. Phew... Of course, her punishment was several long down/stays.

Then we could continue our loop inside the small forest.

With all that, we almost missed the sunset, I could catch glimpses of it through the trees.

Kaia was still clearly in tracking mode. She often chases critters, but again they rarely look like a dog. Even her favorite obstacles and Le Chat weren't interesting enough to bring her back.

Eventually she had no choice as we headed to the bigger forest. The Moon was already high up there, and I wanted to get there before it got dark.

The construction is still going on, whatever it is they are doing. But we managed to find a small path through.

They won't stop us from enjoying the trails!

As often, we hit all the photogenic spots, it's a beautiful small forest.

It was a bit late for the sunset, but like I often say, it's always nice to catch the last colors.

And as it started getting dark, we made one last cut through the forest to get us on our way back.

That was a nice walk but we kept it a bit shorter than usual, and with work being so busy at the moment, I get a lot less 'useless' steps at home, hence the lower step counts the past few days. Let's see if I can do better before the week end.
