About the only thing I know about Kentucky is the Derby! Mind you I have heard of bluegrass and I like you say it's a bit of an acquired taste!

We only got outside the gates of the derby when we visited a couple years ago.
It used to be a big deal over here but now that I think about it, I haven't heard of it much over the last few years. Would be cool to see though
