Have you ever seen one of those posts on traditional social media where someone says "I won't tell anyone if I win the lottery, but there will be signs..." Then there is a photo of their driveway with a boat, travel trailer, ATV, and other new vehicles in it. Either that, or there is a photo of a room in their house and it is filled with Legos or pets or something similar but equally expensive and excessive.
I've actually gotten a bit tired of writing these posts on Friday's saying stuff like "things are heating up!", only for the markets to completely tank and then I look like a total noob. Despite the opening photo being about bears, I do think things are looking bullish and throughout this post I will talk about some of the signs that could be the case.
It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

When BTC hit a new ATH a short time ago, I think a lot of us were hoping that there was going to be an immediate run up to an even higher ATH. Crypto is funny like that though, and here we are still over $100K, but back down to the $105K area. It's a bit like those meme's of a guy with a stick poking whatever and saying "do something". I'm sure you have seen it.
Like I said though, despite the sloth-like pace, there are signs, and they have me hopeful that things are getting ready to open up.
Don't worry, I've learned my lesson when it comes to NFTs. It's pretty unlikely I will be "aping" into any new projects anytime soon. I am part of a group who went quite heavily into NFTs over on WAX during the last cycle. As you can imagine, it's been pretty quiet in that group over the past three or four years. However, lately they have started talking about new projects. It would seem that new NFT projects are starting to spring to life over on WAX. They are mostly recycled concepts from the last run, but that hasn't stopped these guys with far more funds than I have from buying in and playing around with them.
I'm not saying they are going to amount to anything at all, but I think it is a sign that life is starting to come back to different crypto spaces and the landscape as a whole. Fingers crossed anyway.
CHEX is one of those tokens that I have been following for a while now. After taking a bath on the EOS that I had been holding since the mainnet launch, I moved those funds over to CHEX. CHEX is the token for the Chintai Network and they have been announcing some pretty big partnerships through the past bear market.
They recently announced that they are going to be listed on Kraken and they have hinted there are more exchange listings to come. On top of that, they also recently announced that they have partnered with Arch Network to Bring RWA assets onto Bitcoin.
I already have my stack, but at $.21 per token, I think CHEX is still a steal right now and if you were looking for something to throw money into, this might be one of them. I'm not going to lie and say this isn't financial advice, but obviously, do your own research.
Well, I finally did it. I have been invested in the @holozing project for a while now, but this morning as I collected my rewards for completing tasks, holding vials, and staking/pooling tokens, I finally hit the 1 million ZING staked mark.
I know a lot of people have gotten to this point before me, but I think many of them bought some of their tokens off the market. These have all been earned organically, and that is something I am proud of. Hopefully the bulls can start running and the funds they need can be gathered to push development across the finish line. I know it has been a long hike for all of us!
On the traditional side of things, I have been hyping NuScale (SMR) stock for quite some time now. If you regularly read my posts, this shouldn't be the first time you are hearing about them. The recent administration in the US has pledged a renewed interest in nuclear power and because of that a lot of nuclear and nuclear adjacent stocks are popping off.
I purchased my shares of SMR when they went public for around $10 per share. The stock took a brief dip for a time, and now it is pushing the $35 mark, currently sitting around $31 or $32. I talked both of my brother's in law into buying some when it launched and they have been quite pleased with the performance. In fact, I was talking to my one brother in law this past weekend who is an accountant and he revealed to me that when it made the dip he bought even more of it. Smart man!
Yesterday, NuScale announced that they just received "standard design approval" from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for their new 77 MWe reactor design. NuScale has yet to make a profit since they went public, but I have a feeling big things are in store for this stock. There are a lot of players in the nuclear space these days, but NuScale has been working behind the scenes for years getting the approvals they need so they can hit the ground running when the time is right.
I've been seriously considering buying some more Splinterlands land lately. I know I said before I wasn't going to pump anymore money into this game, but there is something interesting about lands that has been drawing me back. I still haven't made a formal decision, but the price of some lands is making it hard to ignore.
Finally, I wanted to talk a little bit about my @bozz.sports account. I'm just about to the end of the unlock period and I am almost done with the process of powering down and selling my 20+ million SPORTS tokens. I still plan on using that account to write about sports content, but it's pretty clear there is little hope for the token or the existing community. What should be a vibrant and growing space on HIVE has collapsed due to poor tokenomics and constant abuse.
It was pretty sad to see my millions of SPORTS tokens convert to less than 1000 HIVE, but I am still committed to growing that account and perhaps one day a proper sports community will rise from the ashes.
Brave of you to think about putting more into Splinterlands. Land is cheap, but I still worry about the long term stability with few new players. I still play brawls, and used to play some Modern until Chaos went to Wild. I may just cut back to brawls now.
CHEX is interesting, but I still haven't bought in and probably should have awhile back. Opportunity cost of investing in other projects...
Nice job on NuScale! I'm always searching around for some good deals on stocks but honestly I just haven't had the energy lately. Hopefully it continues to perform for you!
Thanks, I think NuScale is down a bit right now, but I still have some high hopes for it. I think once things pick up in the nuclear sector and things actually start getting built it could take off. Right now it is all still in the design and theory stage. As much as I hype it up, CHEX has been a bit disappointing. I expected it to be higher by now than it is but I still have faith in it.
I have two more un-stakes of Sports token left, next un-stake June 3rd. I have been liquidating it into Hive. I have only 100k left to swap. I heard there will be changes in Sports token?
Oh really? That is news to me. I don't know who would be making the changes since the guy running it has been gone for quite some time now. As far as I know nobody took it over.
Back into Splinterlands?
If I did win the lottery — likely impossible since I never play, but if — I think the only sign would be my investments. Well, I'd probably also buy a new computer. I'm pretty happy with how things are now, more money would just give me that security and less stress in paying bills.
I don't think much would change on my part either. Investments for sure and I might find a place on a lake somewhere. Do some traveling, but not much outside of what I already do, just more exciting places! I haven't decided on Splinterlands yet. Prices are higher than I would like for even common lands.
Hello sir nice to meet you, well congrats for your new investment in holozing and glad you reinvested your amount back. The other part is to be honest i don't have much knowledge about the BITCOIN or crypto current etc. But seeing your post is giving me some idea about the price action and all. I am also seeing some new things to invest in your post. !
Just be careful and don't invest more than you are willing to lose!
