If you live in the US, the one thing you have probably been looking forward to more than anything else is getting November 3rd squarely behind us. Which means we no longer have to watch all of the annoying political ads on TV. Actually, I don't know if you have noticed, but it seems that political ads are pretty much standard now, even when we aren't in an election cycle. While many consider November 3rd election day, I prefer to see it as judgement day as the title of this post suggests. Tomorrow we will make our judgement on who we see best fit to run specific aspects of the country or our home state.
From an action standpoint, it isn't that big of a deal for me. I voted via absentee ballot a few weeks ago. That's right, I'm the kind of voter that one side seems to always be crying about. I assure you though, my vote was fully legitimate and uncoerced in any form.
At this point, I'm actually more concerned about November 4th than I am November 3rd. There is a good chance however things pan out tomorrow, there is going to be a lot of turmoil across the nation. I was talking to my mom the other day and apparently she had taken a deep dive on the Internet which if you know her is funny to begin with.
Anyway, she was reading some thing about some event that was supposedly going to happen and everyone should have 90 days of food and water stored up. Now, I don't think she really believes something is going to happen, and we should always be prepared for emergencies, but it was still interesting to hear her talk about it.

It's possible the "thing" is tied to the election. We've already seen one misguided mass uprising after someone didn't like the results. There is also speculation it could have something to do with the war in Iran, or perhaps the markets. I really don't know, because I haven't dug into it myself. I tend to lean more into the idea that change is inevitable, so try as I might to prepare, I am always going to miss something. Worst case, I hook up my travel trailer and drag it out into the woods somewhere with all my guns. Murica!
As I said though, change is probably the biggest part of November 3rd. With politicians rotating in and out of seats, there will definitely be a lot of change happening after tomorrow. Some for good, some for bad.
Which leads me to the point of this post. I'm picking the theme of "change" for this #threetunetuesday post. I've probably already covered some of these songs in the past, but hopefully it has been long enough ago that you won't remember. I clearly don't!
"Wind of Change" by the Scorpions has always been a favorite of mine. I remember borrowing this cassette from a guy I knew back in high school and making a copy of it so I could listen to it over and over again. It just has a really good message, and I totally dig how it builds up into the massive anthem that you hear towards the end of the song. Plus, it's just really hopeful. It makes you feel like change is definitely possible no matter what you are talking about. This still remains one of my favorite Scorpions songs to this day.
As you know, I kind of dig moody singers like Lana Del Ray and artists like that. I'm not really sure how Weyes Blood ever popped on my radar, but this song "A Lot's Gonna Change" is a perfect song for the theme this week. I honestly can't tell you much about the artist. I just know that I added a few of their albums to my playlists after I heard them a time or two. For all I know, it could totally be AI. I don't think that is the case, but you never know these days.
A quick Google search tells me that Weyes Blood is actually an American singer despite the scenes in this video that were taken from an Asian film. She hails from Pennsylvania it sounds like and she has been performing since about 2003 having been born in 1988.
Finally, I am going to leave you with "Yes I'm Changing" from Tame Impala because my niece absolutely loves Tame Impala. Shame on me, I have never actually given them the playtime during the day that they deserve. I really need to do myself and my niece a favor and dive a little more deeply into them. I actually never realized just what kind of music they make. I've heard them before, but I don't think I could actually name one of their songs. I see now that it is something in the vein of a alt rock or something like that. I actually really dig it.
I'll definitely have to take a deeper dive into them.
So there you go, how do you judge these three songs I shared on judgement, I mean election day?

Political ads ending is a holiday by itself, honestly. The 90 days of food story from your mother made me laugh, my mother believes every warning she reads too.
I don't listen to music much, so I'll skip that part. Regarding the election, I hope everything stays peaceful afterward. Elections usually bring some tension everywhere, but I really hope things go smoothly and peacefully over there.
I'm curious to see what is going to happen, but as I'm not based in the US, my safety is not affected. What I'm interested in specifically is how the market is going to react to the outcome and the rumors as well.
Anyway, I hope things work out as you want, although it never happens that way 😬
