Hello everyone, and welcome to another Foul original. In 1989, two video games were released to capitalize on WWE's growing popularity. Then, WWF WrestleMania was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System. WWF Superstars. This game was manufactured by Teknoaxe in Japan and released in May 1989 in North America. Matches in this game are played single-player, teaming with a computer-controlled character, tagging in with other players, facing off against the computer, or playing head-to-head on opposite sides of the ring. Gameplay is based on a grapple-and-grab system. When a player initiates a grapple, they can throw the grappler or Irish-whip the grappler against the ropes. They can also apply a headlock, allowing them to perform grapple moves unique to each character.

Each wrestler also has standing strikes such as punches and kicks, running attacks such as shoulder blocks, counters such as rear body drops, ground attacks such as elbows, and some moves from the top rope. Matches now also feature a referee present in the ring. He's only there to count the wrestlers out or perform pins, so he can't be attacked, either accidentally or intentionally. Another big change is that you can now leave the ring to continue the fight outside. Players can be ejected with an attack. Once outside, both players have the 20-count to return to the ring. There's a table that can be lifted and used to attack the opponent, which doesn't result in a disqualification. Additionally, if both legal players leave the ring at the same time, their CPU control partners will automatically join them while they fight outside. Occasionally, one of the CPU control partners from both teams will disappear off-screen and return with a folding chair. Unfortunately, the table and chair cannot be brought into the ring and must be used outside. After your team has won three matches, you can challenge the Megabucks team. This team consists of the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase, and Andre the Giant.

Interestingly, Andre cannot be attacked with holds and is only affected by other attacks such as punches and clotheslines. If you manage to win that match, you will receive an on-screen congratulations from Miss Elizabeth. A newspaper headline declares you and your teammate the new champions. Your team will then compete in three more matches, with a final match against Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant.

The game's six playable characters are: Hulk, Hogan, Macho Man, Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Big Boss Man, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Honky Tonk Man, Andre the Giant, and Ted. DiBiase cannot be selected from an actual arcade unit in the game. However, it has been discovered through ROM hacking that there are cheats that can be used in the MAME arcade emulator to play as one or both of them. This can cause issues such as graphical errors, such as the opponent disappearing in the ring. Additionally, if either DiBiase or Andre scores a submission victory, the game will consider the player to have lost.

Well that's it for today if you want to play this game you have it here on this website without having to download anything, now if you put the ad blocker that comes out a lot. https://gam.onl/arcade/wwf-superstars.html#wwf-superstars
