El Barranquero y el péndulo en su cola
El día hoy les comparto unas fotografías que logré tomarle al Momotus aequatorialis o su nombre común Barranquero. Es una ave que tengo la fortuna de ver con mucha facilidad en mi país #Colombia.
Aunque no son las mejores tomas, pueden ver la belleza de esta ave, y algo que me alegró mucho, es que pude conseguir un video de cómo movía las plumas como el péndulo de un reloj. Gracias a esto también lo llaman el relojero montañés.
Transforme el video en un Gif, espero que puedan apreciar un poco el movimiento de cómo mueve su cola. Intente que el Gif quedara en una calidad más o menos buena para compartirlo con facilidad.
Los Andes colombianos son una región llena de mucha biodiversidad y mucha de ella se puede apreciar incluso en áreas urbanas. Pese a que muchos no se detienen a contemplar lo que los rodea.
Una curiosidad biológica de esta ave es que, al ser una omnívora, contribuye al control de otras especies. Se alimenta: ranas, serpientes, lagartos, crustáceos, entre otros organismos. Por lo cual es fácil encontrar videos de un Barranquero comiéndose una serpiente en redes sociales.

Today I'm sharing some pictures that I managed to take of the Momotus aequatorialis or its common name Barranquero. It is a bird that I have the fortune to see very easily in my country #Colombia.
Although they are not the best shots, you can see the beauty of this bird, and something that made me very happy, is that I was able to get a video of how it moved its feathers like the pendulum of a clock. Thanks to this he is also called the mountain watchmaker.
Transform the video into a Gif, I hope you can appreciate a little the movement of how he wags his tail. I tried to make the Gif in a more or less good quality to share it easily.
The Colombian Andes are a region full of a lot of biodiversity and much of it can be appreciated even in urban areas. Although many do not stop to contemplate what surrounds them.
A biological curiosity of this bird is that, being an omnivore, it contributes to the control of other species. It feeds on: frogs, snakes, lizards, crustaceans, among other organisms. Which is why it is easy to find videos of a Barranquero eating a snake on social networks.

This bird is really beautiful, I wish we could see some more closer photos of it, but I know that taking pictures of birds is a very challenging task.
