Greetings everyone. Hope y'all having a great day. I welcome you to my latest DIY. Today, I’ll be showing you how I created this button down shirt, straight sleeve with elastic at the wrist. You might want to change your wardrobe or just want to try this project too.
I made use of 2 trousers materials, I cut it as A-line,so I started with the back panel, I folded to get my desired length, which is the full length of the customer with additional 2 inches,I made it 52 + 2 inches making 54 inches, I want the folding to be big.

I started chalking from my shoulder to bust line which is 10 inches, waist line 15 inches, the hip line 23 inches. For the neck I make it 3 inches wide, 1 inch deep, note that it is the back I am cutting first, from the shoulder slope, I came down by 8 and 1/2 inches for the armhole, the next is I marked the round body measurement, the bust divided by 4 which is 10, waist divided by 4 is 10.5, I added 2 inches for allowance and 1 inch for the seam allowance, she said she wants it free with an inner belt;from the hip side I made an A-line shaping, if you want the A-line to come out more, you need more fabric, here I had to manage what the customer brought.

Then I proceeded to put the back on the front, I added 2.5 inches for the front for folding where the button holes will be, the front neck width will still be 3 inches but the depth will be more than the back so I made it 3 inches, then I created a straight line to indicate where the button allowance will be then I notched it. I didn't use all the 2.5 inches to fold so it can lap.

The hand is a straight sleeve with elastic at the wrist.

After that I cut the collar, I cut it on the gum stay first before I iron it on the piece of cloth.

Thanks for checking on my blog
