Hello everyone, I welcome you all to my blog, hope you all doing great, I am fine over here as well, it's being a while. This is all very exciting for me as I come back to post my handwork after a very long time, and it's about wide legged trousers 😊 (Palazzo) and a shirt (long sleeve to be precise.
Fabric suggestions
You could use a number of different fabrics to make these trousers. I’ve gone for a 100% shiffon fabric of an ash colour, it could be used for any form of style be it gown but I chose it for palazzo because of it's softness and less weight on the body and doesn't cause heat, I got 4 yards of it.
Materials needed
1 Stay (for the collar and band at the wrist)
2 Matching thread which is ash colour.
3 Buttons for the shirt and the sleeve region.
4 An elastic for the waist of the palazzo.
Measurement
- I already know my measurement, waist 26, hip 36, getting the accurate crotch is very important, it should not be too wide nor tight. For crotch measurement, it is the hip divided by 4 which is 9, I didn't use the 9 directly, I had to consider the folding for the elastic at the waist that is 3 inches, so 9+3 is 12 inches, I finally used 13 inches, note that it differs with everyone, my thigh is 22 so divided by 2 is 11 with allowance making it free, if it were to be fitted there wouldn't be need for too much allowance.

For the shirt
- Folding the top into four to remove the front and the back, knowing that the front has extra allowance for the button (for mine I put 2 inches). I measured out the shoulder, the neck of the front will be deeper than that of the back, I used 3 inches wide and 3 inches depth. The back 3 inches wide and 1 inch depth. The bust is 34 divided by 4, same as waist divided by 4 with the allowance, I cut the sleeves with the space for button at the wrist

Making the band for the button

The collar
- 4 inches( measured from up to down), 2 inches for the up and 2 inches for the down. The length is how wide the neck is together with sewing allowance

Putting the elastic
The elastic will be at the waist, the space left for folding it in as shown below

The outcome
