DIY on a basque gown with pleating

Hello everyone, I welcome you to my blog, happy to be here once again

I made this basque waist gown for my self, why I like it is the fittedness at the upper part and freeness at the down part.

The basque waist gown is a fitted bodice that has a -V- shape below the natural waistline, often extending over the hips. The bodice extends below the natural waist usually longer than the half length of the body. I paired it with a skirt length of pleating which is what usually brings out the beauty. I used a bright coloured pink with a touch of white material and thick in texture.

Measurement needed

Bust - 34

Waist - 28

Hip - 35

Sleeve length -32

Round sleeve -10

I measured 19 inches which is more than my half length. I added joining allowance. I made a simple princess cut on it . Following the np(nipple to nipple) measurement, which is 7 inches plus half inch allowance for joining.

I didn't make the back to have a basque, it has a straight dart and 2 inches zipper allowance

The lower bodice( which is the pleating), I measured twice the waist 28 * 2 with zipper allowance, it's 2 inches as well to align with that of the upper bodice.

I made the sleeve straight with an elastic casing at the wrist

This is beautiful, I love the bask design, it's a good decision to make this dress in that manner
Well done dear and thanks for sharing.
