Understanding the power of consistency on Hive

This is the male half of MMO writing today yes it's the auld fluffer @tengolotodo

I was at the gym this afternoon when I overheard two old biddies (Scottish for old women) telling a gym instructor that they hadn't been to the gym since April but were still paying their memberships!

They both were saying they hadn't seen any difference, and he was asking how often they were coming to the gym.

Turns out they turn up to the gym on average once every two weeks. And they wonder why they weren't seeing a difference especially as they hadn't even been back since April!

As I was pumping my crosswalker it immediately got me thinking of newcomers to Hive!

And yes this included this account of ours @mmonline!

We have only just started back blogging on Hive after a couple of months RL hiatus but are back with a vengeance!

Practice what you preach and sow what you reap etc

Let’s be honest for a minute... You’ve just spent an hour (or three) crafting the perfect post. You’ve poured your heart out, you've tripled checked your fluffing spelling, and you've either found or (like me tonight) created the perfect header image in canva.

Now you're all pumped up so you hit that‘Publish’ button and ...

... SFA happens! Sweet Fluff All ... You know the feeling ... digital tumbleweeds rolling past.

If you are lucky you might get an autovote from someone or even hivebuzz saying congratulations you have now published 10 blogs or something.

Don't despair ~ We have all been there...

In fact we are still are there at times with MMO to be honest!

It feels like you’re shouting into a fluffing great big digital void. At this point, it’s so tempting to just say, "Well, Fluff off you shower of sh$tes!" and either quietly retreat or slag Hive off all over web2 as being a scam.

But quitting is the most boring thing you could do.

Think of your Hive blog like a brand-new shop on a quiet street.

For the first few weeks, maybe nobody comes in.

Do you lock the doors forever? Hell No! You keep turning the lights on every day. You put a fun display in the window. You sweep the floors.

You’re there, consistently. Eventually, someone peeks in. Then another. Soon, you have regulars. Your consistency signals that you’re open for business.

Want to speed it up? The try marketing...

You know the shop probably puts leaflets through letterboxes and runs ads somewhere to get the word out....

Well you can do that by engaging, get your word out by leaving meaningful comments on posts. Actually read a post, asking a cracking question that needs an answer... Build a rapport!

Every post you write is like a rep at our gym.

You don’t get a six-pack after one weird sit-up. You build your creative muscles, your writing voice, and your Hive Power over time. Every comment you leave on someone else’s post is like being a good gym buddy – you’re spotting them, and they’re more likely to spot you back.

Right now I cannot stress the importance of commenting meaningfully on posts that you enjoy. Even if you don't have the urge to write and/or publish that perfect post today at least go and comment, go and get to know people.

Be social Hive is social media after all!

The magic of this place isn't in one viral post (okay you've caught me out that is a fluffing awesome feeling) but it's more in the slow-burn satisfaction of building something real.

It’s in the random, thoughtful comment you get on a post you wrote last week. It's in watching your network grow, one genuine connection at a time.

So don't despair, don't let the quiet days fool you and drag you down. Keep turning the lights on. Keep writing. Keep showing up. Your audience is on its way.

Plant your blog and make your mark here on Hive.

If you are reading this outside of the Hive blockchain then know that Hive is a bit different – it’s run by its community, not a big company. That means your voice, your content! It can't just be silenced, censored, or demonetized out of the blue. And that truly matters these days!

If you're ready for a social experience where you genuinely own and control your creations, why not check out Hive?

Everything written here cracks me up, and every word is true.

Not being consistent and not interacting with others on hive is among the major reasons most newbie gives up.

So yes, let's continue to build our creative muscle 💪👍 and be social as much as possible because that is the fun part of being a Hiver.

Thank you for this piece; it's quite motivating and timely. This isn't just for Hive but for our day-to-day living, and I love the illustration of the restaurant. It's kind of normal for us as humans to feel down and frustrated when things aren't going as planned, but giving up shouldn't be an option.

You are 100% correct as this does apply to our day-to-day living and our dreams. It can be far too easy to just give up, but what does that do? Nothing lol.
I am glad you liked this and yes keep on writing keep on engaging and keep on living :)

That would be nice even from the "Oldies", but it is nice to have dreams... some of them can come true. As long it's not the nightmares ! But quitting ? No Way Joséy ! Gonna stay until the "bitter" end... wouldn't miss that "fun" ! Even without the votes... :smirk:
