Riding solo for the first time.

(edited)

Hi Hivers, how’s everyone doing today? I hope you’re all doing great, staying safe, and finding little moments of peace in your everyday routines. Life can get busy and overwhelming, and sometimes we forget to pause and enjoy the simple things. For me, one of the best ways to reset my mind is by riding. There’s something freeing about being on the road, feeling the wind, seeing new places, and just letting thoughts come and go. Today, I want to share a simple but meaningful experience my very first solo ride along the Binangonan–Tanay–Marilaque route.

This ride was special because it was my first time going solo on this route. I didn’t have a strict plan or schedule. I just wanted to ride, explore, and see where the road would take me. From Binangonan, I slowly made my way toward Tanay, enjoying the changing scenery along the way. The views were calming lush greens, open skies, and that quiet mountain-road feeling that makes you forget the noise of the city.

My first stopover was at the Tanay stoplight, where I bought some pandesal from a roadside vendor. It was a simple stop, but it felt nice to slow down and enjoy something warm and familiar before continuing the ride. I didn’t stay long, just enough to take a breath and appreciate the moment. After that, I continued riding and made a few short stopovers to take photos. I didn’t rush anything. I just stopped whenever I felt like the view was worth remembering.

The longest stop I made was at Jollibee Tanay, and this was already on my way back home. By then, I was feeling hungry and a bit tired, so it was the perfect place to rest. I ordered one piece of chicken with Coke, plus spaghetti with fries. It was a comforting meal after a long ride—simple, familiar, and satisfying. Sitting there, eating and resting, I felt grateful for the experience and for having the courage to try this solo ride.
Along the way home, I also bought some onions from a side vendor. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos, but it was one of those spontaneous moments that make solo rides fun. You’re not just riding; you’re also experiencing small, everyday scenes that you usually miss when you’re in a hurry. I also passed by a small beef shop along the road and decided to buy some beef. Tomorrow, I’m planning to cook beef broccoli, and it feels nice knowing that even my ride contributed to tomorrow’s meal.

While riding, the weather changed, and it started raining. Instead of stopping, I decided to ride through the rain. It was actually enjoyable feeling the cool rain, the misty air, and the calmness that comes with it. Of course, safety always comes first, so I rode carefully and slowly. Sometimes, moments like this remind me that not everything has to be perfect to be enjoyable.
When I finally arrived home, I was tired but happy. I took a bath, washed off the road and the rain, and then rested. It wasn’t an extravagant adventure, but it was real, peaceful, and fulfilling. This solo ride reminded me that you don’t always need big plans to feel refreshed sometimes, all you need is the road, a bit of courage, and time for yourself.

Thank you, Hivers, for joining me in this blog and for taking the time to read about my simple solo ride experience. I truly appreciate you being here and sharing this journey with me, even through words and photos. I hope this blog inspires you to take a break, try something new, or enjoy your own quiet moments whether it’s a ride, a walk, or just a pause from your routine. Until the next story, ride safe, take care, and see you again soon, Hivers. ❤️
