The preparation and celebration in welcoming 2023.

Happy New Year! Yeah, I know I greeted everyone yesterday, but I can't help but do it again today. Well, a new start for everything, like tomorrow is the first day of work for the year 2023. 😬 vacation was over, and as of writing, I am already back in the city. I decided to travel earlier to avoid the congested road and the long queue of passengers at the terminal.
All my housemates seemed to haven't come back yet, so I was alone in our dorm. With no one to talk with, why not make myself busy and write instead? About what, then? Hmmm New years celebration?.

As I wrote in LOH#113 - How would I spend the last night of 2022?, I have mentioned that as a tradition, I will be ensuring to complete the 13 fruits. Yet, when I went to the market on the day before New Year's Eve, I was shocked because of the sudden price hike of everything. Even onions cost $12.56 per kilo! As much as I wanted to complete the sets of fruits, I opted not to. Why? I find it no sense at all to spend that might lead me no run out of budget 🤣. Instead, I bought some food for the kids for the parlor games we had planned.

New year is for Family celebration, bonding, and yes, food or eating together is best, but having happy kids is much better.

The family decided to welcome the year in our house as a venue. Each of my husband's siblings would bring food, which was fine as they couldn't expect me to cook. Thus, I cleaned our home and prepared the decorations and loot bags for the latter's event with sisters-in-law and nephews.

The color of the year was Viva Magenta, but we weren't able to buy decorations with specific colors. Hmm, close, right?

And yes, these kids suddenly summoned us at home and started messing up with everything. They were so happy playing with the balloons and didn't have the heart to stop them.

Before the event started, I already told everyone to take some pictures if they wanted to, as for sure, when all the kids arrived, it would take a lot of work to have a decent one. I mean, with them kept running around? Lol.

I was talking to the husband, and when I decided to take some photos, the kids were at home, so this what happened.

No solo pictures for me; I even curled my hair, lol (tapos Hindi naka awra )They kept on joining me, and I am telling you, these three were hard to handle. However, they enjoyed posing on camera, so why not let them?

When I thought they finally got tired and let me, here he comes. Since he kept on moving, our photo ended up like these;

And before the clock struck midnight, the kids were starving, so we decided to eat. It could no longer wait as they kept on throwing tantrums.

The celebration was fun, and I enjoyed it somehow, yet when it ended, everyone went home. 😬 I was left alone at home and felt that emptiness but I didn't want to entertain negative thoughts at the start of the year. So, I went into our bedroom and dozed asleep.
