I feel as if I have been going around the world recently. Today we are being a tiny bit rebellious and sampling a Welsh Cali West Coast-style pale ale in an Indian restaurant in Edinburgh,Scotland for #beersaturday.
Did you hear my yell?
Any excuse to play one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite singers from one of my favourite albums!
Yes the brewery is Tiny Rebel, more about them at the end, but Tiny Rebel was founded in 2012 by brothers-in-law Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams in Newport, South Wales.
It was a bit frothy but in a good way!
and yes it was juicy!
It was also very drinkable.
I tell you what, beer has come a long long way.
I remember the days when many women just didn't like the taste or smell of beer.
Now though, I get hmmm that is fluffing nice!
I never get the people that buy water in Scotland when we have delicious fluffing tap water!
Being a restaurant, of course they try to upsell, but no, take the tap water up here, it is free and usually they will bring a bottle with it.
The restuarant is in Hanover Street which is in the heart of the New Town and historic buildings. I am pretty sure this was a bank when I was at school.
Do you see the domed roof?
In fact it is a tropical type drink, I think this is one reason I find it so drinkable, I can literally can one of these in a gulp!
Taste wise it features a blend of tropical and pine flavors. It actually reminds me of a drink we have called Lilt!
You can make out mango and grapefruit flavours in there as well as pineapple.
It features a blend of tropical and pine flavors, with distinct notes of mango, grapefruit, and pineapple.
It is a 4.6% ABV on the can that I bought @ £5.75.
Can you guess? Being that it was a restaurant and in the centre of Edinburgh ...
£5.75 which I thought was pretty good value. Still a rip off but unfortunately that is the going rate nowadays!
Yes this was another freebie and a brilliant Indian restaurant. Mowgli have you heard of it?
We had a sharing menu, you get three curries, rice, roti bread these fries and starters all for £25 per person. Pretty good value and it was so tasty!
The beer went perfectly well with the Indian food!

My wife and I hit up a brewery this past weekend as well. No IPA's for us though!
Ah well as long as you enjoyed something you liked.
I need one of those for the hangover!! The food looks delicious. I thought it was free for you. hahaha. A rebellious hug for you.
Thanks Nancy and I hope your hangover has gone by now.
You know we call that beer you have to cure your hangover... The hair of the dog (that bit you).
A fresh hug Nancy:)
Cheers Mick and have a great week.
That Indian food looked good. What an interesting pale ale, it sounds tasty! Glad you got out to enjoy the weekend!
It really was a cracking Indian restaurant for the city centre. Although I found out it is a chain. But reasonably priced and tasty food. The beer was tasty, I did see Cali and think of you! Here's to a great new week!
I'm a tap water man myself, our water is lovely!
As well as the beer of course. I have tried that one and I quite liked it too!
Yeah it does make laugh seeing all these foreigners only order bottled water. Yeah there are a few Tiny Rebels that are quite good.
Stay safe with Storm Floris, we seem to have got rains already from it this morning.
We are getting quite mental winds but hilariously the sun is shining like mad and if you took the wind out of the picture it works be a stonking day!

Interesting choice of beer sold in an Indian restaurant.
I thought they would sell Kingfisher.
