Tiny Rebel with Cali Pale Ale

Hello Hivians and all you beer lovers.

I feel as if I have been going around the world recently. Today we are being a tiny bit rebellious and sampling a Welsh Cali West Coast-style pale ale in an Indian restaurant in Edinburgh,Scotland for #beersaturday.

Did you hear my yell?

Any excuse to play one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite singers from one of my favourite albums!

Tiny Rebel ~ the brewery

Yes the brewery is Tiny Rebel, more about them at the end, but Tiny Rebel was founded in 2012 by brothers-in-law Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams in Newport, South Wales.

The Beer ~ Tiny Rebel Cali Pale Ale

image.png

It was a bit frothy but in a good way!

image.png

Juicy Pale Ale

and yes it was juicy!

image.png

It was also very drinkable.

I tell you what, beer has come a long long way.

I remember the days when many women just didn't like the taste or smell of beer.

Now though, I get hmmm that is fluffing nice!

image.png

Beer and Water

I never get the people that buy water in Scotland when we have delicious fluffing tap water!

Being a restaurant, of course they try to upsell, but no, take the tap water up here, it is free and usually they will bring a bottle with it.

Do you see the three monkeys....

image.png

Artful shot ... or #beerart

The restuarant is in Hanover Street which is in the heart of the New Town and historic buildings. I am pretty sure this was a bank when I was at school.

Do you see the domed roof?

image.png

Pale ale but very drinkable.

In fact it is a tropical type drink, I think this is one reason I find it so drinkable, I can literally can one of these in a gulp!

Taste wise it features a blend of tropical and pine flavors. It actually reminds me of a drink we have called Lilt!

You can make out mango and grapefruit flavours in there as well as pineapple.

It features a blend of tropical and pine flavors, with distinct notes of mango, grapefruit, and pineapple.

An excellent can of Tiny Rebel Cali Pale Ale

It is a 4.6% ABV on the can that I bought @ £5.75.

About Tiny Rebel Cali Pale Ale

- Style: Cali is a Pale Ale, often described as a juicy, West Coast-style pale ale.

- Flavour Profile: It features a blend of tropical and pine flavours, with distinct notes of mango, grapefruit, and pineapple. The hops used, such as Citra and Mosaic, contribute to a juicy, fruity taste and a vibrant, hoppy aroma.

- Appearance: The beer has a hazy, pale appearance.

- ABV: The alcohol by volume is typically around 4.6% to 5.0%, making it an easy-drinking or "sessionable" beer.

image.png

The cost ...

Can you guess? Being that it was a restaurant and in the centre of Edinburgh ...

£5.75 which I thought was pretty good value. Still a rip off but unfortunately that is the going rate nowadays!

image.png

Yes this was another freebie and a brilliant Indian restaurant. Mowgli have you heard of it?

Obligatory food shot

We had a sharing menu, you get three curries, rice, roti bread these fries and starters all for £25 per person. Pretty good value and it was so tasty!

The beer went perfectly well with the Indian food!

It really was a cracking Indian restaurant for the city centre. Although I found out it is a chain. But reasonably priced and tasty food. The beer was tasty, I did see Cali and think of you! Here's to a great new week!

I'm a tap water man myself, our water is lovely!

As well as the beer of course. I have tried that one and I quite liked it too!

Yeah it does make laugh seeing all these foreigners only order bottled water. Yeah there are a few Tiny Rebels that are quite good.
Stay safe with Storm Floris, we seem to have got rains already from it this morning.

Interesting choice of beer sold in an Indian restaurant.
I thought they would sell Kingfisher.
