Lo enriquecedor de la diferencia

ESPAÑOL Cuando conversamos con alguien con una perspectiva sobre uno o varios temas, diferente a la nuestra, puede que sintamos cierto ruido o malestar ante planteamientos opuestos a los que tenemos, y que saltemos rápidamente a pensar que alguien está en lo cierto y alguien está errado en esa discusión. Sin embargo, allí, en medio de la incomodidad o la molestia que implica ver de frente una postura diferente, podremos tomar algo para aprender, algo incluso pequeño pero enriquecedor, sobre formas diferentes de ver la vida, de entender las problemáticas o al menos de cómo se siente esa experiencia desde el cuerpo del otro. Si esto se hace con respeto y consideración, nos estaremos enriqueciendo mutuamente y creciendo.

When we talk to someone with a different perspective on one or more issues than our own, we may feel a certain discomfort or unease when faced with opposing views, and we may quickly jump to the conclusion that one person is right and the other is wrong in that discussion.
However, there, in the midst of the discomfort or annoyance of facing a different position, we can learn something, even if it is small but enriching, about different ways of seeing life, of understanding problems, or at least of how that experience feels from the other person's perspective.
If this is done with respect and consideration, we will be enriching each other and growing.
