My Girlfriend Was Tired of This Bad Habit—So I Finally Changed [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, everyone. How are you doing?
It’s been a while since I last wrote for Hive, and today I want to share a story that I think you might find interesting.
I’ve been living with my partner here in Colombia for about two years, and I’ve always had a problem when it came to trash because, in the past, everything was garbage to me, and I would just throw it all into one bag. She would get upset because I didn’t recycle, and believe it or not, it was a weekly argument because of that.
So, for the sake of our relationship, I’ve made an effort and have been recycling for about a month now.
Here in our building, a man comes by every Friday to collect recyclable materials.
We have a small space in the apartment where we keep bottles, cans, and cardboard, right next to the laundry room.
When Friday comes, I pack everything into a bag, take it outside the apartment, and leave it in a corner. During the day, the collector goes through all the floors gathering these materials.
The good thing is that a large portion of the money stays with the residential community, and it helps reduce our maintenance fees, which I really like.
But the best part is that I no longer argue with her about these things, haha.

Hace rato no escribía para hive y hoy vengo a contarles esta historia que siento que les puede interesar.
Llevo alrededor de 2 años viviendo con mi pareja acá en Colombia y siempre he tenido el problema con la basura, ya que para mi en el pasado todo era basura y lo depositaba en una bolsa. Ella se enojaba porque no reciclaba y aunque no lo crean era un problema semanal por ello.
Así que he hecho un esfuerzo por la relación y estoy empezando a reciclar hace ya un mes.
Acá en el edificio donde vamos pasa un señor por el reciclaje los días Viernes.
Tenemos un pequeño espacio en el apartamento donde ponemos las botellas, latas y cartón justo al lado del cuarto de lavado.
Ya ese día yo empaco todo en una bolsa y lo saco afuera del apartamento y lo pongo en una esquina. El señor durante el día pasa por todos los pisos recogiendo estos materiales.
Lo bueno es que gran parte del dinero se queda para la unidad y nos reducen en la cuota de administración y eso me gusta.
Aunque lo mejor es que ya no peleo con ella por estos temas jeje.
Eso es todo amigos, muchas gracias por leerme y como siempre después de meses sin estar por acá les recuerdo aprender algo nuevo, hacer deporte, reciclar y cuidar el planeta como también su bolsillo jeje.
